An Arizona gun store owner said he will not sell weapons to customers who voted for Obama.

The owner of an Arizona gun store said he will not sell weapons to customers who voted for President Obama because “you have proven that you are not responsible enough to own a firearm.”
Cope Reynolds, owner of the Southwest Shooting Authority in Pinetop, Ariz., posted the new store policy in a newspaper advertisement — as well as on a sign posted on the front door.
“If you voted for Barack Obama your business is not welcome at Southwest Shooting Authority,” the ad reads. “You have proven that you are not responsible enough to own a firearm.”
The Southwest Shooting Authority is a family-owned, family-run business that Reynolds opened in 2004. He told Fox News that he’s absolutely serious about the new policy.
“I’m a small business owner,” he said. “If you are dumb enough to vote for Obama again – after four years of this — I don’t think you are responsible enough to own a firearm. I don’t care who it makes mad.”

I'm still dumbfounded that anyone could have voted for Obama again. My neighbors put up 3 Obama signs within the last 2 weeks of the election (an older Jewish couple). I can't look at them without thinking "stupid" is printed across their foreheads!
I’m with the gun store owner. Words cannot describe how much I hate the bastards. They have, in my opinion, murdered a great Country...a way of life.

Excuse my ignorance, but where in the constitution does it say that a private business MUST sell to everyone? Don’t restaurants frequently have a sign that says “We Reserve the Right to Refuse Service”?
I understand the laws against discrimination based on race, religion, etc., but NOT selling to those who have already demonstrated diminished mental capacity seems like a great way to avoid potential lawsuits as well.

He has no obligation under the constitution to sell his guns to anyone he doesn’t want to.
This is exactly how to fight liberal fascism.It may violate 2nd amendment rights but then the left has been violating constitutional rights of the individual with presidential executive orders.
But this is the way to proceeed. The line in the sand has been used by the left, so why not the right?
My kind of gun store (actually the all are my kind!) Went to “The Big Show” gun show here in Reno yesterday morning. Friday morning and the place was packed. Can’t imagine what Saturday afternoon will be like.
About your older Jewish Neighbors, another encounter with an older couple. We attended a dinner and were seated next to an older couple and struck up a conversation. My wife learned that the lady had been raised in Yugoslavia and had lived under the Nazi’s and Tito so was familiar with a totalitarian way of life. My wife made some comment (I didn’t hear it) and the lady said “You’re not a Republican are you?” with a tone of disdain. Needless to say that brought the conversation to a quick halt since they were older and obviously couldn’t be swayed. So I must agree with you about the big “S” being stamped on foreheads.
Hopefully this Administration won’t go after his FFL.
I feel the same way when I look at Obama voters... I think. “what the hell has happened to their brains?”

That’s funny. My good friend was in the Soviet army and was stationed in East Germany. He was able to escape and and works as an ER doctor in Tenn. He says that he thinks FUBO voters are absolute morons. He says that he escaped from that way of life and doesn’t want to see it here. He especially hates Zero care ... as he calls it.

A person has the right to keep and bear arms. The business owner has no obligation to facilitate the right.
There are no line-items on an FFL renewal asking how many customers you turned away or if you have discriminatory sales practices. I just completed my FFL renewal paperwork, and it’s the typical “Are you a citizen? Have you been adjudicated mentally defective? How many guns have you sold in the last 3 years? How many have you bought?”
If they pull his FFL, it’s purely political, and while I’m not saying that the BATFE hasn’t pulled FFLs for less, the shop owner would have a lawsuit in a pretty little wrapped box if they cited his refusal to sell to specific persons as their reason.
Just like you can choose to go to KFC if Church’s puts up a sign saying they won’t serve white people or Moe’s Southwest if Taco Bell puts up a sign saying they won’t server non-Hispanics, this shop owner can refuse to serve anyone on the grounds of intelligence and that diminutive Obama-voter can go to Billy Bob’s Diner and Gun Shop down the road.
It is not as if Obama voters never lie and/or cheat before, it is (almost) a given.
How so? He's not Congress and he's not making any laws infringing on anybody's rights. He's not denying anybody the ability to own or purchase a weapon, just one of his. I suppose the argument could be made that since he has a federal license, he's obligated to sell to anybody who qualifies, but the reverse argument could be made that the licensing is itself, every bit as much an infringement on the 2nd Amendment
His business must be very good. Why would anyone who sets up a business purposely discourage 50% of the potential customer base from coming in the door? He should offer a discount to those who voted for Obama.
Reminds me of the cheesesteak guy in Philly who made everyone order in English.

Someone has to be “made an example of”, and this chap might have just volunteered.
He might not have the BATFE, DHS, and other alphabet nazis descend on him like a plague of heavily armed locusts in a massive SWAT assault to ransack his business as well as private residence and seize all the guns, ammo, computers, and anything else of value they can steal... it’s been done before.... but I’ll be pleasantly surprised if he does not.
The regime had to put up with some of us bitter clingers to a certain extent for the first few terms (I’m including the Bush and Klintoon reigns) but I have a feeling that such cavalier throwing of the gauntlet before our ruling elite might become a far more risky proposition.
He might be lucky if all he gets is his socks sued off... even if there is no way to prove how anyone voted.

It is you, Snark, who does not understand the constitution and the law. Freedom of association means that a business should be able to transact with who they want to transact. Legislatively, political affiliation is NOT a protected class for purposes of discrimination. Now if he said no homos or blacks then that would be different under the law.
I turned to my nephew, and ask "how you like OSAMA". He said "Obama" in a quiet yet gruff manner.
I said: NO. Osama,,,,again he said "OBAMA"
I turned to him asked very quietly jokingly, "Are you a Democrat?",

Snark, If you are implying by this statement that the store owner doesn't understand the constitution, are you referring to the 1st amendment? If so, I would suggest that you are the one who doesn't understand the constitution. It is more likely that when the libs get themselves all wound up about this, they will be screaming for the “government” to do something. That reaction will be advocating for the violation of the first amendment against the store owner.
If I have incorrectly interpreted your statement please clarify. The first amendment is very misunderstood by many people.

My sig other and I were in Cabelas Kansas City yesterday and were amazed at the activity at the gun cases. We spoke to one of the sales associates and asked him why people were buying guns.. He said many many first time gun purchasers... Even senior citizens...
People are scared.....

How so? You have a right to free speech. That doesn't require a publisher to print your book. Your 2nd ammendment right does not require anyone to sell you a gun.

It “may” violate 2nd amendment rights. There are many methods of discrimination which are acceptable against
selling a person a firearm, mental capacity, felony record,intent to commit felony,
and so on.
The question is does a political belief warrant discrimination against a citizens exercise of 2nd amendment rights? I do not believe there is case law on that point.Remember that if a firearms dealer happens to be a leftist, under this logic he can refuse to sell to a copnservative and so on.
Clearly race cannot be used as an excuse not to sell a firearm to a person, that would be a violation of a citizens 2nd amendment rights in todays America.
It is my considered opinion that this could easily become a controverted issue under the 2nd amendment.
BTW, I approve of this dealer refusing to sell arms to people who supported Obama. I would love to see MacDonalds refuse to serve them too.

He understands the Constitution. Everyone has the right to own firearms AND he has the right to refuse to sell to anyone from his private business. They can find their firearms elsewhere.
Sounds like he understands the constitution just fine. Where in the constitution does it say that HE has to sell guns to irresponsible idiots?
And dealers have a responsibility, if the person in front of them is clearly mentally ill, openly suicidal, or a lunatic, they shouldnt sell to them.
Obama voters seriously fit in this category.
