Mandeville, LA Its clarification from the Wounded Warrior Project, a firearms engraver, the founder of MarineParents.com, and more, this week on Tom Gresham's Gun Talk® Radio, the original nationally-syndicated radio talk show about guns and the shooting sports.
The CEO of the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), Steven Nardizzi, will be a guest on this Sunday's show. This follows a week where show host Tom Gresham shared his email exchange with the PR director of WWP in which she indicated that the organization does not do interviews with media or appear at events which are related to guns. This set off a firestorm of reaction by hunters and shooters, many of whom have donated to help wounded veterans as well as putting on fundraising hunts and shoots for the WWP.
"I'm really glad that the Wounded Warrior Project is coming on the show to clarify their position on this," said Gresham. "It has been really confusing to see them taking donations from firearms manufacturers as well as hunting groups, and then to be told that they won't appear in public with us. The latest communication from WWP is that this is all a big mistake and that they want to clear it up with me this Sunday. "
Also on this Sunday, its the founder of MarineParents.com, Tracy Della Vecchia. Originally founded in response to parents' needs to find information and to Connect & Share® with one another during deployments, MarineParents.coms services and programs have now expanded to support Marines, and to support and educate Marine families. One such program is Purple Heart Hero Support, which provides assistance and services to wounded Marines. For more information, and to donate or volunteer, visit http://www.marineparents.com/.
Guest Noelle Feucht is a busy woman. She is the CFO and jewelry designer at AKR, and moonlights as a hand engraver of firearms focusing on the old world Bulino style, and specializing in reproduction and restoration work from the 1800s. To see some examples of her engravings, visit http://engravingbynoelle.com/engravings.
Trijicons Tom Munson stops by this Sunday as well, with whats new in the world of optics, including a Crossbow ACOG with a range finder. For more info, visit https://www.trijicon.com.
Pow!!!!
FReepmail if you want On/Off the Gun Talk Pinglist
LOL!!
Good evening, ml!
Howdy!
In for a min.
How bout them Boys!!!
Argghh!!!
The Browns should have owned them!
Ping!
Pong!
But they came back at the end and that killed the spirit of the Brownies.
Glad WWP finally came on the show.
POW!
I’m working on a major mess here next to my desk.
I use an upper shelf on one of my bookcases to hold ammo, cleaning supplies, gun parts, etc. etc.
The shelf broke this afternoon and stuff is scattered everywhere.
(I’d planned on organizing it someday but today really wasn’t the day.)
Went out to the range today to do a few final practice shots with the new slug gun. Had to turn around and come home because the range was completely packed. I’ve been using this public range out on DNR land since the early 70’s. I’ve never seen so many people there. Cars double and triple parked in the lot and cars and trucks parked out on the gravel road in both directions. It would have been a minimum of a two or three hour wait.
Strange thing was, probably only a handful of them were hunters getting ready for deer season. The other hundred or so out there were general public primarily shooting handguns.
I don’t know if it was the nice weather or the results of the election that brought this on. It was nuts!
Yes, it is good that Tom and WWP are clearing the air.
Bummer about the shelf.
I went to the range yesterday, it was packed too!
Full auto FAL shoot.
Holy Moses that was fun!
This guy is dodging the issue.
And Tom is holding his feet to the fire.
Tom needs to lay off a bit.
It’s getting pretty heated.
This WWP PR-guy is dancing all around the issue.
He is the CEO
Steve sounds like he does not know how to deal with legal matters as a CEO.
He could be making more money for the wounded warriors if he knew what he was doing.
I bet Steve tries to sue Tom.
I don’t think so, it’s too expensive.
I am kinda surprised that they had not come to an agreement prior to recording the show.
That was a pretty tense interview.
Even sadder. An amazing line of BS: “We’ll take the money, but we don’t want anything to do with your organization.” That’s what I came away with.
Tracy Della Vecchia sounds way more sincere than Steve Nardizzi.
www.marineparents.com/
And Tom isn’t in it for personal gain, he is trying to raise MORE money for the WW’s.
Hiya my.
Very tense. I understand the heavy legal costs involved and don’t fault WWP,
they are being advised maybe by the wrong people but it’s their choice.
At least they showed up to explain their case.
Agreed.
Thanks for the Pow! ping, mylife.
That is a fair observation.
Sure!
Howdy Dave!
WWP does not co-brand, create cause marketing campaigns or receive a percentage or a portion of proceeds from companies in which the product or message is sexual, political or religious in nature, or from alcohol or weapon companies.
They did indeed change the term "firearms" to "weapons".
A little off topic, but in researching this, I see that Steve pulls down $320K per year in personal salary and bonuses for running this "non-profit".
Do you insure your firearms beyond your homeowners?
Did some experimenting yesterday.
60 grain subsonic 22 works in the AR with the CMMG conversion kit.
It works in the Ruger MK II, and you can kinda sorta get the AR slide fire stock to work with the CMMG 22 conversion kit.
You get get 3 round bursts.
There just isn’t enough recoil.
At least he isn’t making 1.6 mil in salary.
We’re in the wrong business ;)
Subsonic?
You one a those hit man types?
:)
Will that work in a 10/22?
Speaking of .22 rounds, have you ever had a 525 count box of Remington “Golden Bullets” splatter all over your office floor?
If anyone is looking for a different grip for their AR, I recommend this one:
http://www.rangerjoes.com/Stark-SE-2-AR15-Sling-Grip-wHook-Mount-P4782C523.aspx
Very well made with sling attachment point and battery storage. Also replaces standard trigger guard with a larger one built in.
+1
I don’t know.
It does not work in a Marlin 60
