This was done by a soldier in the field.

I know a guy that had one with the warbird "carved in relief" on it.
He sold it for $125.

Idiot

That’s a *start*, but won’t even cover one of my Class III AR-10s. I priced my FFL appraisals out 3yrs ago w/ NRA, and it was almost same as my ho’s ins policy estimate of $1400/mo.

I get so many fund-raising calls from them, from Sept 1 - Nov 7, it drives me nuts. I didn’t renew my membership last year because of all the evening calls. I have them on *ignore* on cell and landline units. There’s an “activation box” on the membership app, which must be checked, for each benefit, IIRC.

It was very well carved.
I told him he has an excellent example of war art.
He didn’t get it.

Woodcarving and engraving is a whole ‘nother world of art. If you sneeze and slip, that’s going to leave a noticeable mark.

I talked to the folks at Cole Custom about using CNC machining to do this work in wood.
They said they tried it but they went back to doing all work by hand.

So are mine; a massive 2½-ton, dbl-door unit. I think you saw the pic I posted of the 10yr old Cannon, a few weeks ago. It ain't going anywhere, with the security/fire systems I have here.

Sure, but it just is not the same.
I looked at purchasing a duplicarver for the wood.
It does the rough work and you do the detail.

Cole said they tried it all and went back to doing it by hand.
