Anonymous claims to have blocked GOP election theft with Ohio firewall (o rly?)

Hacktivist group Anonymous has done some good things and some bad things. It all depends on your point of view. Now the group has come forward and said they are the reason that Karl Rove nearly went apoplectic on Fox News on Nov. 6, Election Night 2012.

Thom Hartmann reported the claim on his radio show on Friday, which is simulcast on Current TV (video of the Current TV broadcast is embedded). Of course, Anonymous has claimed things in the past which later turned out to be false, but as Hartmann said: "it makes sense."

Republican strategist Karl Rove seemed incredibly surprised when the results came back from Ohio. It wasn't just the surprise that Mitt Romney exuded—he reportedly had no concession speech written—it was genuine. …

So Anonymous helped steal the election, is that it?

The GOP won’t do anything about this, even with Rove’s alleged apoplexy.

It’s looking more and more like this was Mugabe-style election.

Nope...the GOP won’t do a damn thing. They have their scapegoat - conservatives and tea party “extremists” like me. That’s ok. After 25 years of loyal GOP support, I’m done. And I’m ready for a real 3rd party - the same ones I’ve railed against in the past as an unreal and un-needed reality.

I don’t really have any idea whether these idiots could have anything to do with Romney’s loss but it seems to me that it creates a real problem for Obama if it gets any media.

Look I supported Romney after Palin stood aside.

But frankly, he failed.

Get over it. No more Romney.

That’s the thing - the media is just an extention of the obozo administration, so the likelyhood of this info seeing the light of day outside of a few blogs is very low ...

Yup, Romney is gone. Now to get rid of his professional staff, incidental but noisy residual supporters, and maybe some of his donors.

Time to move into a glorious new future devoid of the GOP-e and it's formula for losing.

If Anonymous can STOP others from committing voter fraud, they surely can COMMIT voter fraud for 0bama.

Well, yeah . . . but how could their very interference in the voting process ever be interpreted as “stopping” election fraud??

WRONG! They are trying to have such a scapegoat but anybody with sense knows who is really to blame.

There's another election coming up in less than 2 years. The GOPe had better be careful what they wish for.

I have a sneaking suspicion that no, they DIDN’T come across any sinister GOP cyber attack to stuff the ballot boxes or to stop any legally eligible voter.

Rather — they, like the Democrats, are in projection city.

ONLY 14 out of 88 counties went for Obama. The Urban areas were to blame. The GOP’s only hope to ‘win’ those areas is to out ‘freebie’ the Dems.

In every aspect, Entertainment also. They provide in-kind constant media propaganda.

A couple weeks ago, before the election, I watched an NCIS (new) episode. Of course, the character Abby mentions she’d rather be locked in an elevator (something to that effect), with Michelle Obama. Small compared to the daily barrage from the MSM and Entertainment Media but a HUGE donation of time to the Obama camp.

“I totally believe that this occurred.Rove is scum and one day, the Bush admin. and his handlers/cohorts will be exposed as the criminals that they are.”

This comment about the story sounds so familiar...Replace Rove with say, Rohm Emanuel or David Axelrod, and Bush admin. with Obama admin. and it is the same sentiment many of us have. This guy is waiting four years down the road for the Bush admin to be exposed. Hmmmmm. How long will we have to wait either way. For me, I hope within the year for Obama.

Examiner appears to have pulled the article (the links given aren’t working at this moment) — maybe they are updating it.

I’ve found snippets elsewhere that Anonymous claimed the GOP had back doors into the counting systems in 3 states, so they could change the results, and that Anonymous added firewalls to those access points to block them.

I’m not saying I believe them — I can’t imagine the GOP actually did this, or that it is even possible to do so given how they actually collect and report votes from the electronic machines, and how the machines are NOT networked.

On the other hand, I could believe that Anonymous could have blocked ORCA itself, so that it was unusable. But that doesn’t appear to be what Anon was claiming.

“I don’t really have any idea whether these idiots could have anything to do with Romney’s loss but it seems to me that it creates a real problem for Obama if it gets any media.”

They hacked Orca. That’s the only thing I can come up with. And it makes sense. Security was probably the last thing on their minds. They wanted to get this up and running for election day.

Hack into it, change a couple of lines of code and get out. It’s chaos out there on election day. Plus, who is going to come forward and say someone hacked their system, especially when no one knew who did it?

If they demonized Romey, imagine what they’d do to a real conservative?

“The GOP’s only hope to ‘win’ those areas is to out ‘freebie’ the Dems.”

Will never happen. They would vote for Mugabe if he had a “D” next to his name.

The only way to win those areas is ensure that the voting place has been thoroughly reviewed and getting rid of the poll workers.
