Does anyone still think that there is freedom of speech in the USA?
An example of the thought control mind-set of the left is on almost daily display anymore. The days of open dissent and displeasure with our president are coming to a close. A small example. At my son’s Cub Scout meeting several weeks ago, they were going over the Pledge of Allegiance. We were off to one side, and I heard the den leader ask what a republic is. I heard my son pipe up and say, “A Republican is someone who wants smaller government!” The den leader gave me a scowl. My brother in law the other night said that he heard this transpired and was NOT happy about it. He looked disgusted, in fact. So much for having differing opinions....
It is a mistake to assume that 'freeedom of speech' means that 'anyone gets to say whatever they want whenever they want'.
That is not what the first amendment says. The first amendment says, paraphrasing:
'Anyone gets to say whatever they want whenever they want without reprisal from the government'.
Yes, I already know that there is no bill of rights. The bill of rights is, at best, a bill of privileges. That does't take away anything that I said above.
