Public nudity ban passed by the Board of Supervisors
SF Gate ^ | 11-20-12 | City Insider

Posted on 11/20/2012 4:48:16 PM PST by Brandonmark

Nudists will need to cover up or limit where they show their bare buns after the Board of Supervisors voted 6-5 to pass a ban on public nudity. Supervisors Jane Kim, John Avalos, Eric Mar, Christina Olague and David Campos voted to oppose the ban. Campos argued that police resources could better be spent fighting violent crime, instead of tracking down naked men roaming the streets. Other supervisors argued the ban seemed to infringe on people’s right to express themselves and was merely a problem in a Castro that didn’t need a citywide ban. The ban still requires a second vote by the board and approval by the mayor, but if all happens as expected, the ban could go into effect Feb. 1.

Amazing that this actually passed...even though it doesn't take place until January.

Should have been made a part of “eye pollution” legislation.

I just couldn’t stand to see Nancy Pelosi au naturel. Don’t want to lose what is left of my eyesight.

It’ll take more than this ban to get me to go to San Fran.

Oh the nuditity! Anybody that would allow aids infected and hemmaroid ridden people to sit down in a public place should be held liable. I would recommend a hazmat suit for anybody who wants to visit San Francisco.

No one would want to see any naked people in San Francisco unless they wanted to go blind

In actuality, it won't take place at all. This is San Francisco we're talkin' about.

It is amazing that it passed the first vote. At the very least, it is a step in the right direction. San Francisco has not taken a step in the right direction in a long time.

They are still trying to figure these things out. LOL

And this was only 6-5? Seriously, why not higher? Just have some common sense people, I am not interested in seeing old fat people let their junk hang out in the streets.

Somebody needs to help me out here.

Why is exposing one’s self a crime, but walking around nude isn’t.

Never mind...it is San Francisco. A lovely but polluted city.

If these nudists were still young and attractive, there would be no ban. They are still going to allow sado-masochistic festivals and gay pride parades.

Now the SF people are being nudophobic, discriminatory, non-inclusive, and anti-diversity!! What is this world coming to?

I see an earthquake in SF’s future that will turn Sacramento into water front property.

Hard to believe that San Franciscans tolerated naked, sweaty asses on chairs in public cafes for so long.

...that beautiful HELL HOLE [San Francisco]....

And a beautiful city it still is in many ways. I spent 22 months there at the Presidio of San Francisco (1961-1963)in the shadow of the Golden Gate bridge. This was even before the hippies and long before Nancy Pelosi. It was a jewel in those days.
