Columbus -- The Ohio Supreme Court on Tuesday slapped former Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann with a six-month law license suspension for his 2010 criminal conviction for mishandling campaign financial matters.
Dann, a Democrat who resigned as attorney general in 2008 after just 17 scandal-ridden months in office, has since worked as a private practice attorney in Cleveland. He had pleaded with the high court for leniency.
He was found guilty of soliciting improper compensation and for filing false financial disclosures, misdemeanors that occurred while he was attorney general, according to court records. Dann has since paid a $1,000 fine and completed 500 hours of community service.
Dann was accused of using his campaign fund to illegally pay for the rent at a Columbus-area home he shared with Anthony Gutierrez and Leo Jennings, two of friends from the Youngstown-area he hired at the attorney general's office. He also gave Gutierrez a $5,000 interest-free loan from another campaign account, according to court records.
Dann also failed to disclose on his financial disclosure statement more than $17,000 he received as reimbursement from his campaign committee, according to court records. And he failed to disclose the proper amount a campaign contributor paid to lease a private jet to fly Dann and his entourage to Arizona in January 2007.
All of these facts were considered by the court in imposing the six month suspension.

Sounds like his plea for Mercy was heeded.
A 6 months suspension and $1,000 dollar fine is nothing. He will be back in the lawyer business before ya know it.
Yet another democrat crook.
