(Scroll down for video) A family dog helped alert parents that their 9-week-old baby has stopped breathing, according to reports.
The Brousseau family rescued their dog six years ago, and the dog returned the favor on Sunday in Portland, Oregon. The Brousseaus say that the dog named Duke is responsible for saving the life of their baby daughter.
On Sunday night, Duke jumped on the bed and trembled uncontrollably, enough to wake them. "If Duke had not been so scared, we would have gone to sleep," Jenna Brousseau said.

I was just going to ping you but you were a step ahead of me!
I have a pastor friend who says animals see into the spirit world (seeing for example, both angels and demons).
I have another theologian friend, very well educated in Europe and all, and that Dr. says the same thing...
Obama would eat him.
Our Jack Russel Bobo, saved our house from burning down. A floor plug that was under the sofa shorted out one night and was shooting sparks that ignited the sofa.
Bobo ran back and forth from the den to the bedroom barking his head off, until my husband got up to see what the problem was. A few more minutes and we would have had a major blaze on our hands.
Bobo is in doggie Heaven right now and I miss him.
:-)
Our Faithful Friend
When God had made the Earth and Sky, the flowers and the trees,
He then made all the animals, and all the birds and bees.
And when His work was finished, not one was quite the same,
He said, “I’ll walk the Earth of mine, and give each one a name.”
And so He traveled land and sea, and everywhere He went,
a little creature followed Him, until it’s strength was spent.
When all were named upon the Earth,
and in the sky and sea, the little creature said,
“Dear Lord, there’s not one left for me.”
The Father smiled and softly said, “I’ve left you ‘til the end,
I’ve turned my name from back to front, and called you DOG, my friend.”
Happy Thanksgiving, All
A cat, on the other hand, would have shrugged and said, Not my problem; the kid was noisy anyway.
This dog is great.
My 95 year old aunt walked us on her mile long path on the Bronx River near her apt. She was complaining about the Canadian geese, that they were pests who miscled in on the food chain of the ducks whom she was trying to feed.
A few months later she died and at her burial, at the gravesite, four geese flew past just as the priest was sprinkling holy water. They were in a four ship formation and one flew off as a missing man.
Everyone (there was a crowd) who knew anything about military flight, noticed it. A cousin, a Navy captain, siad, “that was a fly by!”.
I know this is a dog thread, but I would like to have some theologian explain that one.
I was at a 9/11 airline crew memorial service on the beach near LAX and right after the Coast Guard did their helicopter fly-by, a flock of geese in formation flew right past us, honking.
It was like that. Did some people notice it and wonder about it?
We walk our dogs daily and have different routes we take them on. Thrre or four years ago, about dusk, we were walking our previous dog when suddenly her hackles rose and she started barking furiousy at ~something~ on the rooftop of the building across the street. She followed this thing down the street until it seemed to disappear. She had never done this before, and she never did it again.
Fast forward to two days ago, we were walking our two "new" dogs down the same street, as we have for years. The setter mix suddenly stiffened, her hackles rose, and she began to bark furiously at ~something~ on the rooftop of the building acoss the street. The australian shepherd mix didn't bark, but his nose was twitching like crazy. They watched something across the street, that we couldn't see, until the perceived danger was past.
I truly believe dogs can see into the spirit world.
“I have a pastor friend who says animals see into the spirit world (seeing for example, both angels and demons).”
Isn’t that the truth. My dogs have sat and stared at something which my human eyes could not see. Not just for a second but for a minute or more. My chihuahua seems to know about a minute or two in advance when the taxi arrives.
