Susan Rice Lays All Blame on Intel Community for Her Misleading the American People

Ambassador Susan Rice has finally explained, in her opinion, why she misled the country about what happened during the September 11 terror attack against Americans in Benghazi, Libya. According to Rice, all the blame should be given to the intelligence community for her misleading comments made five days after the attack, since she was just repeating what they had told her.

A reporter asked, the American ambassador to the United Nations, "Ambassador Rice, would you explain your view of the controversy concerning your comments about Benghazi? And have—is Senator McCain fair in what he has said?"

"As a senior US diplomat, I agreed to a White House request to appear on the Sunday shows to talk about the full range of national security issues of the day, which at that time were primarily and particularly the protests that were enveloping and threatening many diplomatic facilities—American diplomatic facilities—around the world and Iran’s nuclear program. The attack on Benghazi—on our facilities in Benghazi—was obviously a significant piece of this," Rice explains.

I believe your suggestion is correct. The administration told Clapper to fall on his sword and he did.

Obama is the guilty party...and no one else.

And we are being asked believe that Clapper made the changes completely on his own with nary a peep from anyone. Next, someone shall try to sell to us the Brooklyn Bridge.

Indeed. The DNI reports to the President. I do not believe for one minute that the DNI took it upon himself to alter the report; a report that, in one form or another, likely made its way to the desk of the President. Everyone knew the attack was an Al Qaeda attack and made a conscious decision to lie about it.

So, we are to believe that Clapper took it upon himself to alter the material with no direction from anyone. Ladies and gents, the administration finds new ways to insult our intelligence on a daily basis. Mendacious misbegotten mountebanks.

The former director of the CIA, Hayden, was on Brian Kilmeade's radio show this week. From my understanding, he said the typical protocol was for the White House to submit their talking points to intelligence agencies for approval. They would either approve, reject or censor...but would not rewrite or insert new information. The "Clapper changed the talking points" meme is indeed an insult. I wonder why he is willingly taking the blame?

Rice blames the intelligence community, i.e., the CIA. Under oath before Congress, CIA Director Petraeus stated that the CIA informed the administration "from the beginning of the tragedy" that Benghazi was a terrorist attack.

Let's give Rice the benefit of the doubt. Let's say she wasn't privy to the CIA report on Benghazi. Let's say that she was a good soldier reading a script that she received from "someone" and that she believed the script to be accurate.

Well then - Congress should be able to get to the bottom of this matter with just a few questions.

Question #1: Who gave Rice the script?

Question #2: Who expunged "terrorist attack" from the script AND who directed that person to do it?

Question #3: Who is responsible for Rice's "video" narrative and on who's authority was that narrative determined to be the cause of the attack?

Benghazi will likely be used as a back room "bargaining chip" during fiscal cliff negotiations. Don't be surprised if our Congress chooses to not pursue this serious matter.
