GERMANTOWN, TN - (WMC-TV) - An extreme couponer claims she was attacked at a dollar store when she said the manager refused to honor her coupons. The entire ordeal was caught on camera.
The sign at the store states coupons are accepted at Dollar Tree but a shopper is now nursing a busted lip and popped blood vessels in her eye after she says the manager refused to deal with her "wad of coupons". She said she was attacked while leaving the store.
Missy Monzo-Marte says she was shopping at the Dollar Tree in Germantown with a friend, both of whom belong to the DeSoto County Coupon Club.
Jennifer Hill says they had a similar run in with the same manager last week. Now, they want answers from corporate.

Some retailers have no-coupon policies clearly posted. Still I can’t see punching the person unless the person got violent and it was in self defense.
That’s just rude.
My wife coupons, she religiously cuts them from the inserts in the Sunday Paper, logs them in a database and files them in binders, then compares them to the store fliers that come with the Wednesday paper and via another DB: she does a merge, and it tells her what coupons to pull, and for which stores (each of which has its’ own coupon wallet).
On Thursdays, she takes the specific wallet into the specific store, with a printed list of items and quantities, and goes to work. Checkout, it’s generally hand the coupons to the teller, after she scans all the merch, and then watch the price drop.
Mind you, it’s nowhere NEAR the stuff you see on TV, but a little organization and preparation CAN save you 30-40% on a regular basis, provided you have storage space (and freezer space. . . ) to stock up several months’ supply when it’s cheapest. . .
>> I could feel the blood squirting out of my eyes! Argh!
So, what’s the deal with women and paying with exact change — digging through the purse, wallet and counting out every damn dime, nickel, and penny??? It happens all... the... time!!!
I was going to refer to the GOV of NJ in response to GeronL but it appears he may be LURKING here under roamer_1
<: <: <:
Certainly hope he (NJ) isn’t lurking ATOP someone...could be nasty.
Hope she called the police and had dude arrested. She won’t need to be couponing any more.
Yeah, but in their defense, some customers take the all you can eat as a challenge rather than smack talk
.
I don't think it was a dude.
The manager should be fired by now and also should by now be arrested for assault. Good thing it was recorded. Dollar Tree will be paying big-time for this.
Really, so now there is shame in using coupons? Saving money is shameful? There are some very exteme views permeating this site. A penny saved is a penny earned, or will the founding fathers be under attack soon?
Too bad there’s no shame in using an EBT card....

We have found that coupons are a bribe to tempt you to buy something you would not ordinarily buy.
See my post # 32.
My late mother-in-law saved every coupon she could get so she could send them to my worthless brother-in-law (If you know him he probably owes you money). She never sent them.
When she went into the hospital we cleaned up her house and found thousands of them, all expired.
There was not a coupon item found I would even buy to eat in all her stuff.
We don’t have that problem this far out of the city :)
Or the ones that write checks?
Proud of paying full retail?
Gee! Does that mean I wouldn't ordinarily buy Porterhouse steaks, a Thanksgiving turkey, or...gasoline?
Even today I get lots of coupons in the mail for things I would never buy or want to eat.
Mom got lots of coupons in the newspaper for foods redeemable at grocery stores-80 miles away. We just never used them.
I’ve never seen a coupon for a porterhouse or a turkey. Stores here now give you a free turkey if you buy over $100.00 worth of food.
As kids we never had turkey. Mom always baked two hens for us.
