Indeed they are. And the law, slow and ponderous -if not thorough- as it is, has not yet caught up with the reality of the internet and all its implications in a satisfying manner for all concerned. So, while that's ongoing, let's just raid people's homes and throw them in jail... Sounds like a plan!

This isn’t about stealing from me it’s about someone spending millions to create a movie (or whatever it costs to create a song) and then have that ‘work’ stolen.
Who loses? I can’t believe you asked that. The singer, songwriter, movie producer, actor,,, need I go on?
They’re not doing it for free and if whoever views it or listens to it enjoys the product then they should pay for it.
