'Son of Hamas' Says Israel Made a Mistake with Ceasefire

Mosab Hassan Yousef, the son of one of the founders of the Hamas terrorist organization and author of the book “Son of Hamas,” said on Friday that Israel made a mistake by agreeing to a ceasefire with Gaza’s terrorist rulers.

Yousef has spent a number of years abroad following a decade in which he risked his life working undercover as an agent for the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet). His code name during that time was 'The Green Prince.'

"What is important is that at the moment there is a ceasefire, and I think we need to look at things and digest all of what happened," Yousef told Israel’s Channel 2 News in a special interview.

"I believe the Shin Bet did its best,” he added. “Let's not forget that our enemy is a barbaric one which uses women and children as human shields, and in these situations we are very limited, because we care about the lives of innocent citizens.”

Asked about the possibility of an Israeli ground operation in Gaza, Yousef responded that "it may be that it was not the best timing for action of this kind - but I'm sure it's a possibility that Israel will consider for the future."

"Israel should not reoccupy Gaza, but I believe that it has the ability to guard the borders through which Hamas transfers weapons," said Yousef, adding that he believes there may be another round of violence between the two sides. "Today we know that they have greater capabilities than ever before. I'm sure it will allow us to prepare for the future,” he said.

Speaking about the possibility that Israel would have to work towards toppling the Hamas regime in Gaza, the former Shin Bet agent said, "This is necessary.... .....

Finally, he turned to his father, Hassan Yousef, and other Hamas leaders and said, "I want to say to the members of the organization, including my father, who are listening to this interview - brave people do not hide behind children and fire missiles. If they had even a bit of courage - they would be able to leave Gaza instead of hiding like rats."

I agree - it was a mistake allowing Hamas to rearm. It would be interesting to know what Israel was threatened with by the Obama-Clinton consortium.

Our damn Administration with King Obama, Brotherhood supporter, must have threatened Israel to surrender the most important thing that could have happen. And that is to wipe Gaza clean and recover the land.

I'm going with at best, the US will sit by and let Israel take care of the problem alone. At worst, actively helping to kill Israelis.

"Hamas was born to destroy. It cannot build.”

Interesting point.

He’s right. In the Hamasholes’ eyes, survival = victory. Israel shold kepp fighting until Hamas is destroyed or surrenders unconditionally.

Obama is hates Israel as much as any other Muslim, so he reached out to the Egyptian dictator to make a false pact with Israel - a shaky 'cease fire' that only allows Israel's enemies time to rearm and prepare for their 'final solution.'

It will be a few years away, but 'all nations' turn to destroy Israel - they fail when the Heavenly Host, led by Jesus Christ, comes to wipe them all off the face of this earth.

It can't happen soon enough for many... but it's coming.

That's not going to happen. Gaza is essentially a city-state now, and no one is going to "wipe it clean." Israel has a legitimate interest however, in controlling ingress and egress to stop weapons smuggling.

Israel will someday have to finish the job.
All this fake ceasefire (an agreement with a murderous gang that OPENLY PROCLAIMS its intent to continue to amass weapons to kill you with....is a fake )
all this fake ceasefire means is a postponement of the inevitable.

Which, for Israel, is a mistake. Just like it was a mistake to give away Gaza in the first place.

For all the reputed “Jewish bargaining skill” Israel sure drops the ball a lot in its “negotiating”

But we don't know what Mossad is telling Bibi about the real threat, Iran.

It is certain that Hamas in Gaza was probing the Iron Dome effectiveness/capability for Iran and the other Arab Spring countries, but it might have also been trying to distract Bibi from Iran.

We only see what is happening on the surface...but there is another vastly more complicated world below the surface.

And, unfortunately, Bibi has to play 3 dimensional chess in this situation because he also has to get reelected.

And we are amazed at how Israel is so incredibly inventive...

But in the end, it is because if they fail...they die.

Since Islam is an existential threat to Israel...and indeed the non-muslim world, Israel and non-muslims need to start an international campaign to reveal the truth about Islam.

Israel cannot, on its own, defeat an enemy as great as Islam...and it shouldn't have to.

Yes, Israel can keep the Islamic wolves at the door for a while. But until those wolves are killed...they will keep coming back

That said, the world needs to know (as result of an organized and concerted campaign) what the intentions of Islam are (i.e. the world caliphate).

An army needs to know what it is fighting...the enemy needs to be clearly identified.

Islam is a threat to civilization...we in the civilized world must join forces to defeat it.

For Israel to win--for the civilized world to win--we must defeat Islam in the popular culture, at the election box, in Congress and legislative bodies around the world...and on the field of battle.

This cannot be done piecemeal (or on a country by country basis)...a coordinated effort is required.

Humanity itself must come together to defeat this evil enemy.
