Speaking of Che, it amuses me that he’s such a cult hero to skulls full of mush, libs and lefties. The real Che was a murdering thug. If he ever met one of these T-shirt wearing idiots (or other clothing with his image) he’d have ordered the wearer shot for supporting evil capitalists. It is more ironic that Che’s image has been seized on by capitalists to make money. In his real life, Che died as a failed communist revolutionary leader in Bolivia.

And this, my FRiends, is why Obama covered up the cross and symbol for Christ when he spoke at Georgetown University.

Welcome to the Church of Obama Christ Join the over 50,000 people already members of the Obama Christ Movement.

What is Obama Christ?

Barack Obama is the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. This fact was witnessed by the world on November 4th, 2008 when Obama became the most powerful figure in the world. Obama was sent here from heaven to save our world from sin and destruction. Only worthy souls will be permitted to travel to heaven with Obama upon Earth's demise. The Church of Obama Christ has since been formed as a way for the world to worship and praise the new savior. He is the direct reincarnation of Jesus Christ and was placed here by the Holy Spirit. The end times are near and you must repent your sins to the Son of God, Barack Obama.

A Note on Republicans

Republicans are E-V-I-L! They will try to decieve you about Obama's plan on the Stimulus Package and Healthcare, but most importantly, Obama's Plan for Salvation. The Church of Obama-Christ has been contacted by the savior, and Republicans MUST convert to the Church...or be eliminated.

The color works, considering the topic of the thread.

As long as we are discussing theology I have a question. You don't get to heaven except through Christ. However the Bible tells of Prophets before Jesus who walked with God and which God was quite happy with. What of the Jews before Jesus (Himself a Jew)? What of the Jews afterwords?

God is mocked every day. I don’t see the mockers paying any penalty.

Don't rely solely on what you see or hear. Not all penalties come in this life. His Word does not fail.

It’s always been by faith, that is, believing God, in both OT and NT.

In the OT, the Deliverer (Messiah) was promised in Gen. 3:15; the words were spoken to the serpent (devil) and prophesied of his defeat by the “seed of the woman” (the “seed” being Jesus, born of a virgin), who would bruise (or crush) the serpent on the head (a mortal blow). The words were spoken by God after Adam & Eve sinned against God by believing the lies of the devil and by disobeying God’s words to Adam.

After that God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them, Genesis 3:21. Blood had to be shed—a picture of redemption and the Redeemer. Although Adam & Eve weren’t Jewish, they believed God’s promise to defeat the devil. They were looking for the One to deliver them from the devil’s power, as evidenced by their anticipation of a man child with the LORD, Genesis 4:1. Their spirits are in heaven today.

God separated unto Himself a nation through Abraham, who was descended from Shem (one of Noah’s 3 sons) and who lived in Ur of the Chaldees (modern day Iraq). Abraham’s descendants through Isaac and Jacob became the Jewish people.

God made an unconditional covenant with Abraham to give him a land (present-day Israel plus some, boundaries described in later passages), to make him a great nation, to bless him and make his name great, and God told him: I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed (through the seed, Jesus, Galatians 3:8), who was to become the seed or descendant who would fulfill that promise. (Genesis 12:1-3)

God later gave details of this covenant in Genesis 15, Genesis 18, and in Genesis 22.

In Genesis 15:6 the statement is made about Abraham: Then he believed in the LORD and He reckoned it to him as righteousness.

As you read through the OT, you will see that every person who believed God was counted as righteous in God’s sight.

Adam believed God.
Enoch believed God, Genesis 5:21-24.
Noah believed God.
And then Abraham.

For the Jews who believed God’s promises (although they weren’t called Jews yet, or even Israelites), they were looking forward to the promised seed, the Deliverer promised in Genesis 3:15, but narrowed down to come from Abraham, Isaac and Jacob—in God’s words to Abraham, and then Isaac, and then Jacob.

All those who looked forward in faith to His Coming were counted as righteous, and when they died, they entered into the bosom of Abraham, as described in Luke 17:19-31, which Christ took with Him when He entered into heaven. Their spirits are with Christ in heaven today.

God made other covenants with the Jews, one of which is the covenant of the Law, or the Ten Commandments (includes the statutes and ordinances as well. This covenant was conditional. If they obeyed God, He would let them live in His land that He gave them. If they worshiped other gods (that is, idols), etc., he would remove them from the land and bring curses on them (See Deuteronomy 27-34).

Another important covenant that God made was with David, King of Israel. God promised him a house, a kingdom, and a throne forever in 2 Samuel 7. The “throne forever” refers to the seed, Messiah. Romans 1:1-7 explains Jesus’ deity as the Son of God and his humanity as a descendant of David, as promised in the prophets in the holy Scriptures.

So, what happened is, the Jewish establishment in Jesus’ day rejected Jesus’ claims to be their Messiah. And the majority of the Jewish people reject Him to this day. Many are still looking for Him to come.

Paul explains in Romans 9, 10, and 11 that God chose Israel, Israel rejected God, but God has not rejected Israel.

When Jesus came the first time, many Jews did believe Him, that He was their promised Messiah, and trusted in Him as their Redeemer and Deliverer from sin, death, and the devil. Many Gentiles also believed.

Thus we have Acts and the Epistles in the NT giving account of the growth of the church—Jew and Gentile in one body through faith in Christ—and exhorting us how to live as a new creation in Christ, in the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. And we have many promises of God to learn and look for. The Holy Spirit was given to indwell believers permanently, after Jesus was glorified (in heaven with His Father, on His throne). The Spirit did indwell men in the OT (Joshua is named in Numbers 27:18 as a man in whom is the Spirit). It was at Pentecost that the Holy Spirit was given to indwell believers in Christ permanently.

And after He was crucified, buried, and resurrected, and ascended into heaven, to this very day, everyone (Jew or Gentile) who believes in Him is declared “righteous,” like Abraham was, and will enter into heaven, at their departure from this earth.
