Engineer and aviation pioneer Burt Rutan on why he doubts global warming

This aired on WUWT.TV on November 14th in response to Al Gore’s “dirty weather report”. Engineer and aviation pioneer Burt Rutan gives his presentation on why he doesn’t think global warming/climate change is a problem, by presenting the data that convinced him it is a non-issue from and engineering standpoint. Burt gets a bit fired up in this presentation, saying to me afterwards by email that “it was fun!”.

The above website address is a report in pdf form that suggests large man-made bodies of fresh water (dam reservoirs)around the World are a major cause of changing weather patterns, temperatures and rainfall rates. From what I understand, climatologists are not involved in or support this study, probably because it doesn't fit with their political agenda of taxing the population for carbon use. This work was performed by hydrologists aka...real scientists. When you look at lists of the largest dams in the world and add up their water capacities of volume and surface areas, the totals are incredible when compared to something like the Great Lakes which have been affected by reduced rainfall and water runoff from the Great Lakes Basin in the past several years. The only problem with reservoirs causing changes in weather patterns is that it would take another world war to fix it...nobody wants to give up their dams, reservoirs or water without a huge fight. Most of us here, including myself believe that the weather patterns of today are part of multi-year cycle, like what caused the weather patterns during the Dust Bowl days. This concept of displaced fresh water(measured in cubic kilometers) being the cause of climate change is so much more believable than carbon emissions (measured in parts per million.

I thought that Rutan died in a crash in the White Mountains?

I believe you are thinking of Steve Fossett who crashed in 2007.

AGW is all an exercise of the Hegelian Dialectic.

The wannabee masters of the world want the peons to behave and live in a certain way so they make up a Boogeyman to scare the ignorant into compliance.

It's all about power, absolute power.

Since it is all a farce to begin with they can come back 20 years from now and claim that they saved the Earth.

Then, they can come up with the next Boogeyman!
