CNN poll: More Americans would blame Republicans if country went off fiscal cliff
Washington Examiner ^ | November 26, 2012 | Charlie Spiering

A new CNN poll shows that more Americans would blame Republicans if the country went off the fiscal cliff rather than President Obama.

45 percent of those polled by CNN said they would blame Republicans more; 34 percent said they would blame Obama.

But Republicans might have a political opportunity if they can convince Americans that President Obama is not working to cooperate with Republicans.

According to CNN, nearly half say Obama is not doing enough to cooperate with the Republicans, although seven in ten want him to compromise with the GOP.

We need to devote our energies to dismantling the media or we will forever take the blame for everything that goes wrong.

Yup, the left controls the message. Everyone thought that the "new media" would force the dinosaur mainstream media and entertainment establishment to be more fair in their coverage - the reality is the exact opposite happened. The MSM went even further left since they had less conservatives watching them to even bother pretending to be balanced for. The old line left media (and liberal new media) see this is as war for the soul of the country. We aren't even hardly fighting. Why do we have rich donors that will pour hundreds of millions into Karl Rove's PAC's, when that money could better be spent gobbling up media? It's mystifying why the right never figures this out.

Of course they would.

It’s the job of republicans to shoulder blame, and they would not deflect it or defend themselves in any way, and would likely openly blame themselves.

LOL, I'm actually about as far right as one can be. I still just haven't quite gotten over the fact that people bought into the ridiculous notion that you could "unskew" polls. It was just...so dumb.

Hit the gas and go over the fiscal cliff! The corrupt MSM will see to it that Republicans are blamed no matter what happens. Therefore, stand up and say we are giving Obama everything he wants! Hit the gas pedal and brace for impact.

AMEN,AMEN,AMEN and AMEN. I'm tired of playing this same song over and over every year, for once let's enjoy the ride down. Would be great fun watching the panic of the O voters as well as the "I will not vote for Romney because crowd.......", yeah you showed us alrighty, lol.

"Polls showed Congress had something like a 13% approval rating before the elections... and yet most representatives kept their seats. "

The system is designed to protect incumbents. So those figures won't change.

Also Hoover continued to be blamed for the great depression until there was a recovery. Then Republicans got elected again. Bush will own the current recession until there is recovery. It is in Republican long term interests to hasten a recovery but believe their short term interests to be reelected is to make their designed locals happy.

This is the media “blame Bush” drumbeat reaching its crescendo. They will beat the “Republicans fault” no matter what happens.

Most people believe what they’re told without deeper investigation. They believe what they see on CNN, NBC etc..We need to change the media or we will continue to lose. There is no other method.

Thank God for alternative media, social media etc...

CNN poll: More Americans would blame Republicans if country went off fiscal cliff

And all thirteen people who watch CNN regularly, may have been tuned in to watch the reports of this.

Considering CNN's ratings, their approval ratings must be close to 0.75% Who are they to talk?

repeat it over and over until the low-information people finally hear it.."""".......

Good idea, except have you ever tried to explain to a 2,3 5 year old, or even a teen child, WHY they can't do something or why they must..........?

Talk until you are blue in the face, then you blurt out "Because I said so", at which time they STORM out, cause a scene, and break things to get their way.

It is not that they are so ignorant as they want what they want, nothing more than that.

P.S: Only the "Because I said so" happened in my house. After that came out of my mouth , THEY KNEW THE CONSEQUENCES of pushing me.

EXACTLY!

Instead they sell out their values, and the low-information folks get an object lesson that we can’t overcome.

“But what was strange was that although Goldstein was hated and despised by everybody, although every day and a thousand times a day, on platforms, on the telescreen, in newspapers, in books, his theories were refuted, smashed, ridiculed, held up to the general gaze for the pitiful rubbish that they were — in spite of all this, his influence never seemed to grow less.”

Just sub `Bush/GOP/conservatives’ for `Goldstein’.

Wonder what would happen if you asked one of them, “Where is this “Fiscal Cliff” they talk about so much? Must be a sight to behold, I might like to visit someday.

This is a just a big It Don't Matter. The Republican party is done for as far as national elections. As dead as the Whigs. They will win state and local elections for a while, but as a national party I just do not see them winning the presidency again. There are just too many of the 47% that live in the large population centers on both coasts and sprinkled throughout the land. The Republican party dominates in less populated states that treasure their freedom much more than their desire to have the government pay for their every whim. Moving further left will not help since voters will not vote for "all most Democrat" when they can have the real thing. I suspect that within the next decade or so, the current Republican voters will decide that the Republican party really does not represent them and either form a new party or just go underground and off the grid.
