Presumably, announcing this now, before the elections, is an effort to undermine Netanyahu.

What is it with these liberal Israelis? Sharon was a great hero, but when he became PM he went senile, betrayed Israel, gave the Palestinian militants a big chunk of the country, and then started a new troublemaking party—after having been elected as a Conservative PM because of the treacherous behavior of Ehud Barak—formerly another military hero.

As we know ... no matter how brilliant a leader is, he will be attacked, ubdercut, and made to look incompetent,

IE Jesus Christ. there are no exceptions, howbeit Obama somehow has the power to have little public criticism.. Many want him gone, but the election was stolen.

Doubtful Barak’s replacement will be as good as he has been in Israel...

God help America, Israel, in Jesus name, amen.

Same as our own dipsticks-——they talk a good fight going in but invariably forget who brung them to the dance.

It was Bush who twisted Sharon’s arm to give up Gaza.

Bush also claimed, on the White House website, that he became the first American President to call for an independent Palestinian State living side-by-side with Israel in “peace and security”.

JERUSALEM — President Bush outlined Thursday in the clearest terms so far the shape of a two-state peace treaty he is hoping to broker between Israel and the Palestinians by the end of his term.

He called for redrawing borders and compensating Palestinians and their descendants for homes they left in what is now Israel.

Speaking after two days of meetings with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert of Israel and the Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas, Mr. Bush said, “I believe that any peace agreement between them will require mutually agreed adjustments to the armistice lines of 1949 to reflect current realities and to ensure that the Palestinian state is viable and contiguous.”

He added, “I believe we need to look to the establishment of a Palestinian state and new international mechanisms, including compensation, to resolve the refugee issue.”

1 Thessalonians 5:1-4

English Standard Version (ESV)
The Day of the Lord

5 Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers,[a] you have no need to have anything written to you. 2 For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 4 But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief.
