On the eve of a visit by Mexican President-elect Enrique Peña Nieto, the White House promised Monday that President Barack Obama "will be pressing for action" in Congress on comprehensive immigration reform and regards that goal as "achievable."
"There is a real opportunity here to move forward and the president is committed to that," press secretary Jay Carney told reporters at his daily briefing.
"He believes that comprehensive immigration reform is achievable ... because there has been in the past bipartisan support for immigration reform," Carney said. "And he thinks it's important not just for specific communities that would be affected by it, but for the American economy."

I wonder the big labor goons like Trumka are privately thinking and saying. They must know that flooding the labor market with millions of Mexicans will drive down the cost of labor.

As for the unions... anyone that thinks the unions gives a poop for american citizens isnt taking into consideration the unions are “internationals” and unions are only interested in dues and laundering the dues to keep democrats in power to gain favorable legislative protection.

I see Jay Carney, Obamugabe, and every drooling moron in the communist's administration is going to try and co-opt the word "forward" as if they have a copyright to that term.
Obamugabe, his fruit little spokeschild, and the rest can shove it. They aren't moving America "forward" but "backward"....
Whatever they propose Obamugabe's handlers will most likely propose something that can't pass their own Democrat caucus.
I had said that within 6 months of re-Election, this asshole would make all the Illegals new Democrat voters.
This must not be tolerated by conservatives. We must demand filibuster and pressure our congressman like never before. At a time of 14% real unemployment and these aliens killing people here and ripping off our money with welfare , food stamps, and education they don’t pay for, we need this to cease. I am now convinced the republicrats are finished. We must now form THE TEA PARTY and fund it with BILLIONS. 3 million republican conservatives rejected the socialist romney.
But drive up union rolls. When they are legal who will hire uneducated, low skill people who speak bad English over the table unless forced by a union?
Wouldn’t it be easier if he’s just run for President of Mexico, too?
