A federal judge said on Monday that an Ohio death row inmate weighing more than 450 pounds cannot be given a stay of execution because of his obesity.

Ronald Post, 53, is scheduled to be executed January 16 for the 1983 aggravated murder of hotel clerk Helen Vantz in Elyria, Ohio.

Give him three lethal doses. That should do it.

Since his first appeal in 1997, Post's attorneys have argued that his weight, of more than 450 pounds, in combination with the state's death penalty drug protocols creates a certainty of, "substantial risk for serious and psychological pain" and a "torturous and lingering death."

How long did he give his victims?

All that time in jail and they couldn’t slim him down a bit.

Didn’t realize you got seconds of prison chow

(Didn’t think anyone would want seconds of prison chow)

450 lbs?

They should hang him instead.

His weight would actually contribute to a quick death.

Maybe they were trying to execute him by using obesity, hoping he would eat enough to explode.

IMO they should have put this a-hole on a diet until he got down to proper execution weight.

Death-camp-diet always works. They were overfeeding him, obviously!
One balogna sandwich per day and he would have lost weight in 15 years, guaranteed!

...obesity would make it difficult to find a vein for a lethal injection

A few bullets would do the trick.

Just quit feeding him. Give him all the water he wants.

Kill the lawyers first. 'nuff said.

His delay in meeting his Maker is near 30 years late. No need in letting another year or so pass.

Give him enough to kill an elephant just to make sure.

There was a guy here in Wash. state who killed a teller in a bank robbery. Convicted and sentenced to hang.

With prison privileges, bought candy at the prison store and gained so much weight that he sued the state saying his hanging would actually decapitate him. Cruel and unusual etc. He won and went on the back burner.

The state then instituted lethal injection, got a new sentence hearing asking for same. They won and that was the end of him.

Took over 20 years, sadly.

The kind of long painful lingering death these lawyers want for a fetus about to be aborted. What was its time allowed in the womb? Less than eight months? And this creep has been on death row kept there by his lawyers for how long, exactly??

Sounds like just a “waffer thin mint” might do the trick.

Even more time post execution (the ultimate weight loss program).

Reminds me of the “a thin mint” Monty Python” skit . . . awesome . . . one thin mint would detonate this tub of lard.

Actually, I’d like to know how this moose gets that much to eat from our tax-dollar-supplemented food supply. Shouldn’t someone years ago have stopped letting this pig eat from such a large trough? Really . . . I’d like to know just how much food is available to the inmates.

Nitrogen Asphyxiation - medical breathing mask hooked up to a tank of 99% pure nitrogen. Add a brain activity monitor and turn on to 1.1 atmospheres. Then wait till there is no more brain wave activity.

Economical - A large tank of nitrogen is less than $100 and you can get several uses out of one tank

Clean - no gore, blood or other body fluids involved

Painless - the condemned falls asleep in a few seconds with no feeling of suffocation.
