A man's quest to overcome his fear of rejection by making at least one crazy request a day for 100 days was throttled last week when a Krispy Kreme employee accepted his order for five doughnuts linked together in the colors and shape of the Olympic symbol.
"It's only my third day and I have already failed," Jia Jiang wrote on his 100 Days of Rejection Therapy blog. "But I did so with such amazement and happiness."
When the 31-year-old approached the register to make his "specialized" doughnut order, Jackie Braun, a shift leader at an Austin, Texas, Krispy Kreme, asked him when he would need it.
"In the next 15 minutes," Jiang replied.
"I was honestly just hoping for a 'no' and to go home," Jiang told Yahoo News in an interview on Monday.

Instead, Braun spent several minutes using the back of some receipt paper to diagram the unusual order.

How sweet it is :)
I've had a couple over my career. They make money for a restaurant.

Wth is a quest for rejection?
Poor guy, he’s talking to the wrong people. If he wants to get rejected he needs to go to a government office. They can tell him ‘no’ much easier and with great conviction!

Absolutely agreed.
From comments.......
She was promoted to assistant manager and given a substantial raise.
Video looks believable.
Who knows ?
People like that young lady make this world a bit less miserable. God bless her! :)
Oh, and Thank You for the post!
Yes, it is. Nice! Great advert for Krispy Kreme! They are the best donuts, a fact I try to forget everytime I drive by.
Curses! Foiled again!
How dare she show American exceptional ism! And with sweets!
Cake is only for grifters like her! Bad serf.
“It was a simple thing,” Braun, who’s been with Krispy Kreme for five years, said. “The Olympic symbol was the only unusual part, because they’re not on TV right now. But we do orders like that every day. We’re here to make people happy.”
He’s got a fear of rejection, so this is like exposure therapy. Get rejected a whole bunch of times, and you hopefully realize it’s not as bad as your fears.
Krispy Kreme are pieces of heaven covered in a rich sugar glaze...... Damn it! Thank God they’re open 24 hours.... Gotta go.
How long until some enterprising trademark attorney for the IOC files suit?
Jackie took our order for a custom made donut birthday cake for my daughter . The place is a pleasant place to go to and we go often. Oh, and the kids went after that donut cake like hungry beagles.
I hope they charged “time and material”, or they were fired.
This should be on one of those Hallmark Christmas movies. How very heartwarming. There are more people like this than we recognize. Thank G-d for every unsung hero.
Jackie Braun,,, wow. Impressive PR. Good kid.
I like how her wheels were spinning from the beginning on “how can I do this?”
I was just in a store and some gal bought something large and asked the checkout person for a bag (it was raining pretty hard).
“No - we don’t have bags that big.”
But another clerk saw it and said “Hold on, I bet we have something. I’ll be right back.” He came back from the back room with two large garbage bags and some duct tape, took 20 seconds to put them on and tape them together.
I told him “I see you are one of those that knows there HAS to be a solution, rather than just giving up at the very get-go. Good for you.”
I HATE it when people don’t even TRY to solve a problem. Or give up after their first feeble attempt.
