Fox News Ends Interview after left-wing journalist calls Benghazi"small firefight"

Fox News abruptly ended an interview Monday after author Thomas Ricks accused the network of bias.

During an interview with Jon Scott, Ricks, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author of The Generals, accused Fox of hyping up the recent attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi.

"When you have four people dead for the first time in more than 30 years, how do you call that hype?" Scott demanded.

"How many security contractors died in Iraq? Do you know?" Ricks responded. "Nobody does, because nobody cared."

Ricks went on to describe the attack as a "small firefight" before adding: "I think the emphasis on Benghazi has been extremely political, partly because Fox is operating as a wing of the Republican Party."

Following that statement, Scott thanked Ricks and ended the interview.

Good for Jon Scott, but when Ricks opened his mouth and asked how many security contractors had been killed in Iraq, Scott should have said "one is one too many, but the US Ambassador killed was the first one killed overseas in over 30 years". He let this leftwing stooge off the hook. This Ricks character is a shameless left-wing quack of the first degree.

I guess Ricks followed the DNC/Obama line. There is nothing to see here. We have US Ambassadors murdered every day.

Good for Scott and Fox for doing that.
that guy is a slimey POS 0dumbo lackey

I though would like to hear the apology that Fox says he made. I don’t think Fox would make something like that up.
I do think Ricks would lie about it

How cool would it be if they’d recorded it?

Scott should have said, One is one too many, but the US Ambassador killed was the first one killed overseas in over 30 years.

In my opinion he should have said, Security Contractors are by definition agreeing to take a position that comes under fire. Some of them are expected to die.

Your comparison of them to an Ambassador and his staff, who are supposed to be protected under international law, and not be subjected to death, is an evil fraudulent and misleading comparison. This interview is over.

That ladies and gentlemen, is what the Right deals with on a daily basis. There are indeed enemies within.

The real question is: Why are Americans dying to supply The
Muzzie Bro’s in Syria with weapons?

Deliberately or inadvertently he is backing up Susan Rice - I am getting more than a little tired of this Beer Summit bullying by FOO - the racist overtone is not just foggy at this point......

Sorry, Obama voters agree with Ricks:

Benghazi doesn’t matter.
Fox is an annoying political front telling lies.

That’s how it is in Amerika.

The left despise our military..but during the Bush Administration all the media could talk about was how many soldiers were killed everyday, to put the blame on Bush..now that Obama is President, for the last 4 years hardly a peep in the media when a soldier is killed..now the media can go back to not giving a damn, because they never did

When has any administration under any other president ever told US citizens to stand down when they were begging for help while abroad? I guess we shouldn’t care that one of our Ambassadors was left out in the cold for MONTHS and was eventually killed because of the ineptitude of the State Department and the President. He was the first Ambassador to be killed since the Carter administration. That’s not a big deal?

The bottom line is this, those 4 people were intentionally sacrificed to benefit this administration. Isn’t that first degree murder? The cold way that Obama and Clinton handled the loved ones of the murdered US citizens is a clear indication of their guilt. A small fire fight? What a low life piece of scum that guy is!

Last I checked, when those security contractors died in Iraq they were performing military services in a combat zone.

The war in Libya was supposedly over, and the Ambassador was a civilian, with no military detachment guarding the “consulate”.

If we’re still at war in Libya, maybe the president should explain that to the American people. Or maybe he should get this Ricks character to do it. He’s slimy enough to warrant an appointment to this administration, and maybe that’s what he’s hoping for with performances like this.

I guess under Ricks’ logic, what happened in Dealey Plaza 49 years ago was just a random street shooting. What was the big deal, only one person died in the plaza.

On the social media sites, this is taken as a great victory for the progressives and a huge setback for Faux News, plus it’s proof that Fox is merely an arm of the radicals at GOP.

Official Reality has been set: Benghazi was no big deal, forget about it.

I wonder what Ricks definition of a large firefight might be?

Although we've not had a definitive account of what occurred in Benghazi, my understanding is that the “consulate” was assaulted by several hundred individuals, some of them heavily armed.

Both the consulate and the annex were destroyed in the encounter.

A “small firefight” it wasn't.
