Wreckers of the Arab Spring
John Batchelor Show ^ | November 26,2012 | John Batchelor

The reversal of fortune in the Arab Spring appears to be a surprise to the Obama administration as Cairo now reveals the wolf in wolf's togs of the Moslem Brotherhood.

Spoke Eric Trager, Malcolm Hoenlein, Sebastian Gorka in re the Morsi declaration that the judiciary in Egypt is illegitimate because it is dominated by "Mubarak loyalists.

This is the same charge that fledgling dictators routinely make when justifying a grab. Stalin called his make-believe threat "wreckers." Washington is acting shocked. There is noise that Morsi is walking back his fiery language of last Friday.

Eric Trager tells me that the Moslem Brothers never reverse course. Seb Gorka tells me that the Arab Spring was always going to come to this with regard the Moslem Brothers, "One Man, One Vote, One Time."

Malcolm Hoenlein tells me that the 1979 Peace Treaty with Israel is now at risk because there is no good way to trust a man who declares, as does Morsi, that he is above the law. Israel must police the whole of the Negev border with the rogue state of the Sinai.

The truce with Hamas is profoundly at risk, because Morsi cannot guarantee stability in Cairo. Two years after the state of the Arab Spring, what has come instead is a Syrian civil war, a Libyan anarchy of arms dealing and marauders against American interest (Benghazi) and a fleeting Egyptian democracy in tatters.

Our own government is riddled with Muslim Brotherhood and communists. They may act shocked but thats only for public consumption.

A few years after our own revolution we had the Whiskey Rebellion, Shay’s Rebellion, and the New England states were seriously considering departing the union. And that was when communications took months not minutes.

The Arab Spring - so-called - was never more than a pathetic fantasy born out of Obama’s naivete and his moslem roots.

It has deprived the Egyptian people of a strong and stable government under Mubarack; plunged the Middle East into an entirely new level of instability in which the embattled Israelis, by long-standing tradition our ONLY reliable ally in the region, are left alone to face imminent annihilation; and it has, so far, led to the disgraceful murder of our ambassador to Syria, about which the feckless Obama - hero of the benighted and ignorant masses of America and our national nemesis - has done absolutely nothing.

Meanwhile, the economy continues to crumble at home, realtions between the races and between Liberals and Conservatives decay, our global neighbors laugh at us, and our foreign policy deteriorates into chaos.

Welcome to Obama II, The Endgame.

It really is quite immaterial whether or not the president is working deliberately and consciously for al Qaeda, the result will, of course, be utterly and absolutely the same.

So the Libyans killed Gadaffi because they didn’t want to pay tax on whiskey? Stinkin’ drunks.

I’m sorry. You’re probably a very nice person, but how do you equate Shay’s Rebellion with what is going on in the Middle East?

The real arab spring (which is a misnomer, since they are persians) was the Iranian green revolution, which was ignored by the White House, and quickly snuffed out by Iran. What is referred to here as the arab spring is nothing more than a planned and orchestrated, foreign bankrolled destabilization of longstanding governments in the islamic swath across northern Africa and elsewhere. Stability and predictability, even of hardline dictatorships is considered a plus to national security insofar as you’re dealing with a known quantity, and what has transpired recently is neither.

I am referring to the fact that moving from a monarchy/dictatorship to democracy is a slow messy process.

Mainly if your tool of choice is Muslim Brotherhood. They haven’t read John Locke, I don’t believe. :)

Morsi declaration that the judiciary in Egypt is illegitimate because it is dominated by "Mubarak loyalists.

I'm now waiting for Obama to declare the House of Representatives to be illegitimate because it is dominated by Republicans.

“Cairo now reveals the wolf in wolf’s togs of the Moslem Brotherhood.”

Now? It was obvious at the time of our intermeddling. So was the disgusting involvement in Libya. So too is the twitching to go assist the insurrection in Syria. So too was the disgusting NON-involvement in Iran.

US national policy at present is to aid and abet the most extreme jihadist element in any Moslem internecine conflict. It is that simple.

The Food Stamp President’s policies are perfectly understandable when you consider that he is a Sunni Muslim. He was raised a Muslim in Indonesia and never disavowed the religion. He says he is a Christian, but in Islamic Jihad a Muslim can lie, steal or perform despicable perversion as long as it furthers Jihad. It should be obvious that this is the case because no (I repeat no) Muslim religious authority has issued a fatwah against him for killing fellow Muslims, abandoning the faith, associating with the Jews, or other acts that would ordinarily cause one to be issued against believers or non-believers.
