Politico: Blacks Fear a White Person Will Win Seat Formerly Held by Jesse Jackson Jr.
NewsBusters ^

This is really too easy. Imagine the hue and cry in the press and elsewhere, which to be clear would be quite appropriate, if an accurate story about a special congressional election to replace a white congressperson began as follows: "White leaders are growing increasingly worried that a black candidate might seize the seat of former Rep. ____ in the upcoming special election."

Well, a story by Alex Isenstadt at Politico with a truth-obscuring headline ("Blacks fret free-for-all for Jesse Jackson Jr. seat"; the headline should be "Blacks fear a white person will win 'their' seat") clearly shows that Chicagoland's black establishment thinks it has first dibs on IL-02, and apparently believes that "Jackson's seat" (as if he ever owned it) can't be appropriately represented by a white person, even though the early frontrunner is clearly liberal on most issues.

Black leaders are growing increasingly worried that a white candidate might seize the seat of former Democratic Rep. Jesse Jackson in the upcoming Illinois special election.

With a host of black candidates announcing their intention to seek the seat, the concern is that they could split the African-American vote and provide a plurality to a white contender. The worries escalated this week after former Rep. Debbie Halvorson, a white Democrat and veteran of suburban Chicago politics, threw her hat into the ring.

Losing Jackson’s seat would be a blow to the black establishment. Chicago, long a center of black cultural and political power – it’s the home of the nation’s first black president, Barack Obama, and the first black member of Congress, Oscar De Priest * - would see its delegation in the Congressional Black Caucus diminish from three seats to two. And there’s Jackson background as the son of iconic civil rights leader Rev. Jesse Jackson.

Jackson’s district, which he was elected to in 1995, contains a small majority of black voters.

... “The battle we have is that we can’t afford to lose a black voice in Congress,” she (Delmarrie Cobb, a longtime Democratic political consultant in Chicago who formerly worked for Jackson Jr.) added. “It would be a terrible loss in many ways.”

I’d like to stop all analysis that says “imagine if a conservative/white/republican did this”.

Just say it straight up, this is racism, it is immoral and dangerous, and it is not to be tolerated! Conservatives/republicans don’t do these things, leftists/democrats do.

There will never be racial harmony in this country as long as there is a Congressional Black Caucus. This group is as racist as you can get. What about all of their constituents that aren’t black? The CBC has to be unconstitutional, but no one will take them to task. They also refused to allow Allen West to join their group at first and he is as black as one can get.

Did they fail to notice J.J. Junior was stealing them blind?

If they did, they didn’t care. He has the “name.” And the right skin color. Amazing how well racism is accepted in the US by libs, as long as it’s non-whites who are practicing it.

Seems simple enough to me. They need to cut down on the number of blacks vying for the seat.

Roll the dice, or hold a rap contest. As good a way of choosing a congresscritter as any.

Judge a person not by the color of their skin but, by the content of their character. Right?

No, I think the NAACP changed it to read:

You should judge a person, not by the color of their character, but rather by the content of their skin.

Well, I know that, and you know that...but the press and the black community WILL look at it differently.

It is articles such as this that cause me to wonder if the only people in the United States of America that are still racist are Liberal Journalists and race-baiting Black politicians.

Maybe both groups are still stuck in the 1950’s?

She, actually. The “white” one they fear is Debbie Halvorson, who lost the primary to Jackson back in March.

To add insult to injury, Debbie Halvorson is pro gun and has an "A" rating from the NRA. Now that would leave a mark.

Hell, I'd settle for someone honest.

Like that's ever gonna happen.

The Democratic Party's policy on racism:

(1) Falsely accuse non-racist conservative whites of being racist. Do so when even a drooling cretin should be able to tell that the accusation is false. Relentless false accusation is the left's method of achieving what they believe to be moral superiority.

(2) Give leftist minority anti-white racists a permanent pass while mumbling nonsense about how minorities in America cannot be racist because they have no power, even though many blacks and Hispanics obviously ARE racist and obviously DO have power.

Hussein is not high yellow. He’d need to have at least three white grandparents for that.

“we can’t afford to lose a black voice in Congress”

I wish some Republicans had the cojones to start using the same exact language but replacing “black” with “white” to jolt the MSM about how racist these people on the liberal side are.

It would be terrible to put a white person in Jesse’s spot.

Especially if he/she were honest.

That would be horrible.
