Female Marine officers are unlikely to join the infantry anytime soon, in part because of a lack of volunteers for the Marine Corps' Infantry Officer Course, which was opened to women in September.
Only two of about 80 eligible female Marines have volunteered for the course -- a grueling, three-month advanced regimen conducted at Quantico, Va., that was opened to women to research their performance.
Of the two female volunteers, one washed out on the first day, along with 26 of the107 men, and the other dropped out two weeks later for medical reasons, a Marine Corps spokesman said.

I met a lot of BAMs and worked with a few. I believe some of them could have hacked it.
But that was 40 years ago and things were different.
In 20 years, I never met one. I had one that tried, only to find out later that she was purging in order to keep up with the males. She couldn’t accept that her body was fundamentally different. She was medically discharged.
My orders are to weed out all non-hackers who do not pack the gear and serve in my beloved corp.

I’ve never met one woman who could do the job, carry the weight or march and run with the weight which is needed.
We had one woman with us as a test in the Arctic and mountain warfare training in the Arctic and it was a disgrace to even think this woman who was supposed to have even the best could do the job.
All a woman has to do to get in the marines is 1 yes 1 pull up and 2 pulls ups to graduate which is a disgrace too.
They have more time for a run, less weight to carry .
It’s time to stop this nonsense about women thinking they can do the same job, they cannot , we are built differently also to be fair some men I;ve seen should not be in the military at all, ie.e Manning the homosexual who gave our secrets away is a prime example.

But have you seen the 4 women suing to get in the combat units?
They could never carry 130 pound over mountinas for 30 miles in 8 hours, hell half the men cannot and yet these idiots want to put front lines marines and soldiers in danger because of their arrogant selfish attitude.
I wrote a reort to the higher ups about this woman and told them how it did not work out but I bet my report was ripped up just like many who said openly serving homosexuals and cross dressers should not be let in the military.
It’s obvious that this admin does not care about lives , Libya was a prime example of that so lives being lost due to their social agenda is another bump in the road
As a caller to Hanity said yesterday, “Men are NOT supposed to know how it feels”. Pregnancy is a wonderful gift to women. It is part of the special spiritual bond they have with their children. Women are not victimized by pregnancy.
Politically, men need to toss political correctness and bring back logical thinking.
I’m sure there are one or two women out there that can do this. I’m sure a 300 pound man doesn’t want to be “rescued” by a 100 pound female firefighter from a 6 story building. Like she’ll be able to carry him out. Women need to realize they don’t have the physical ability men do.

Keep the standards of the Corps at the highest level. If any woman wants to try and can manage to keep up with the big boys, fine.

Dragging hose ,chopping ,climbing,carrying, all of the thing Firefighters do.
They have a course for men and a course for women.
If women can do the job they should compete against the men.

I married a BAM 40 years ago and she would still kick your ass for using the term BAM. Then again, that was 40 years ago and she has mellowed quite a bit. Most of the WMs we knew could have never hacked the training much less extended combat.

Only two countries had mixed-gender combat units: (1) Israel in its War for Independence (1948-1949) and (2) Russia's Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). Neither of them employ females in frontline combat roles for good reasons that were written in blood,
1. The women and men suffered disproportionate casualties. The women tried to prove themselves and took more risks. The men tried to protect the women.
2. Women casualties had far greater effects on unit morale among the women and the men.
3. Fraternization was an on-going and serious problem that caused order discipline problems in these units.
Both Israel and Russia have women in their military branches today and the women are given combat training. However, they are not assigned to combat arms of infantry, armor, and artillery.
The Canadian Army has opened its infantry units to women. Only three women passed the selection process and none are presently serving with infantry units.

It's also true that people of either sex who are a little hard of hearing (like me) don't hear women's voices or comprehend their words very well. The first set of vocal frequencies to deteriorate in most people's auditory range, is the female vocal pattern. I can hear men, but not women on the phone. Young women in particular drive me nuts.
Includentally, the first vocal frequencies a baby can make out, are in the female vocal range. People seem to unconsciously realize this: note how people universally raise their pitch when talking to babies and small children.
