A Sordid Tale of Chicago Politics that Reveals how Obama got his Start

Ah, Chicago and its politics. There's no other American city quite like it.

Fortunately.

It's a beautiful city from the outside. And a political cesspool inside, a seeping source of conniving and corruption that spawned Barack Obama and his top aide Valerie Jarrett and is now ruled by the president's ex-chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel.

Another amazing chapter in the Windy City's sordid politics began unfolding Wednesday, one whose lineage can actually be traced back to the very beginnings of Obama's political career, which now has an extended expiry date of Jan. 20, 2017. Today, Obama lunches with the man he defeated, Mitt Romney.

See if you can follow along now. The details are revealing of the uncompromising history, incestuous inner workings and municipal mores of the place that produced Obama the politician.

Yesterday Mel Reynolds announced his candidacy for the House seat representing Illinois' 2d Congressional District, which includes the city's South Side and -- oh, look! -- Obama's Hyde Park house. So, he'll be eligible to vote in the February Democrat primary and the meaningless April special election.

That special election became necessary after the sudden resignation last week of the district's easy Nov. 6 election winner, eight-term member Jesse Jackson Jr.

Jackson Jr. has been absent from his House duties most of this year during treatment for depression and bipolar disorder. His situation was complicated by revelations that federal authorities are probing allegations of his misuse of campaign funds, not a rare occurrence in Chicago politics.

Chicago, the home of Bill Ayers. Also the city that Frank Marshall Davis got his start in.

In last weeks episode of Vegas the mobs candidate for mayor wasn't doing so well. Not convinced that the sabotaging of a debate was enough, Vincent Savino sought a little insurance by having voting machines shipped in from Chicago. Of course Vince's guy won.

Art imitates life...

Obama won his US Senate seat when sordid details of his GOP challenger Jack Ryan's sealed divorce records somehow got leaked forcing Ryan to resign. I see this same Chicago thuggery in the Gen. Petreus mess. Obama’s Chicago thugs knew of Petreus’ peccadillo's long ago and in my thinking blackmailed him into backing the phony Libyan riots story. Once they had Petreus’ backing the Libyan lie they dropped the sex scandal bomb destroying Petreus and discrediting him from being believed if he ever told the truth. Bringing down Petreus who was much reviled by the far left anti-war crowd was an added bonus.

IMHO, the Chicago region of Illinois should be kicked out of the union along with NYC, LA, SF. They can be their own country and stand on their own merits or lack thereof.

“What, did I win the lottery?”
-- Mel Reynolds, upon being told that not only was his girl paramour only 13, but that she went to Catholic school and wore those plaid skirts.

Forgot to mention a biggie WRT Mel Reynolds----he resigned from Congress after a conviction for statutory rape.

BACKSTORY In August 1994, Reynolds was indicted for sexual assault and criminal sexual abuse for engaging in a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old campaign volunteer that began during the 1992 campaign.

Despite the charges, he continued his campaign and was re-elected that November; he had no opposition. Reynolds initially denied the charges, which he claimed were racially motivated.

On August 22, 1995, he was convicted on 12 counts of sexual assault, obstruction of justice and solicitation of child pornography. He resigned his seat on October 1 of that year. Reynolds was sentenced to five years in prison, expected to be released in 1998.

In April 1997, Reynolds was convicted on 15 unrelated counts of bank fraud and lying to SEC investigators. These charges resulted in an additional sentence of 78 months in federal prison. Reynolds served all of his first sentence, and served 42 months in prison for the fraud charges.

At that point, President Bill Clinton commuted the sentence for bank fraud. As a result, Reynolds was released from prison and served the remaining time in a halfway house.

FYI In January 2001 Reynolds received a pardon from President Bill Clinton and was hired by Jesse Jackson's Rainbow/Push Coalition to decrease the number of young blacks going to prison.n 2004, Reynolds was overwhelmingly defeated in the Democratic primary by incumbent Jesse Jackson, Jr., with Jackson netting 88% of the vote.

ANOTHER community organizer?---- Before entering politics, Reynolds worked as an assistant professor of political science at Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois. He also founded the Community Economic Development and Education Foundation.

(Sniffle) It's nice to know Chicago is going all out for it's favorite son (sob): O's ex-COS, CHI/MAYOR RAHM did a graceful plie and
explained CHICAGO's tolerant and compassionate values.

" We're bringing fried chicken and watermelon salsa to Jesse Jr,
convalescing at Mayo b/c he screwed up buying Obama's Senate seat."

================================================

Other than robo-calls----JJJ did not campaign but still paid his wife Chicago Alderman Sandi Jackson (who lives in DC)---and her political consulting firm---- $5000.00 per month the last four months.

JJJ's "campaign" expenses since 2011 show he's spent $1 million, about the same as Rep. Biggert's $1.1 million and Rep. Dold's $1.6 million, in competitive races.....well above the roughly $300,000 each other Reps spent in two years.

"I'm only human but my wife---she's a frickin' *itch."
"She da one puttin' me away at dat dang Mayo place."

"She's *issed off cause I'm gettin' it on the side while
makin' like I was sickly. Dam *itch wants me outta da way."

===========================================

As everyone who grew in in Chicago knows, this is politics, the Chicago Way.The Democratic Machine has long perfected the art of taking care of it’s own. You know, like giving Michelle Obama a high paying no-show job that was not needed after she went to DC, like Tony Reszko (Syrian swindler) buying the parcel adjoining Obama’s house in Hyde Park and donating it to him. Some might call that bribery.......but it is legal in Chicago).

=========================================

You could be a diehard Republican and vote that way your whole life---but once you're dead in Chicage you vote the straight Dem ticket.
