President Barack Obama and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney talks in the Oval Office following their lunch. Bitter campaign foes just weeks ago, President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney met for lunch at the White House on Thursday, sitting down with an eye on overlapping interests rather than the sharp differences that defined their presidential contest.

In their first meeting since the election, Obama and the Republican nominee met in the White House's private dining room, fulfilling a promise Obama made in his victory speech the night of Nov. 6.

Romney arrived at the White House early Thursday afternoon in a black SUV, walking into the West Wing alone. He left after staying at the White House for just over an hour.

Memo to All:

When you show up in the same place where any politician is the center of attraction, you lend them credibility.

Don't ever do that unless you agree with them.

I suspect, truth be known, the Bush/GOP party, didn’t really mind about Romney’s advancement of gay marriage bill and the state run health care law in Massachusetts, along with his views of abortion. I think they plan and hope to soften all of these issues ..just working on it with the public. If Mitt had won, this would had pushed the ball further down the field. They know the mind of the conservative to work against us. Pretty soon, conservatives are going to have to force a conservative candidate (next primary cycle) or we all have to build a new constitutional party. One goal of many. Not making it about a personality. If the House caves, it will be a huge backlash. Everywhere, I go, people say no more taxes to the government waste.

Anybody notice Republicans being set up to take the blame for Obama’s destruction of America?

***
My thought, as well. Obamugabe will pretend to follow advice from Romney and then blame him for the failure of Obamugabe’s policies.

Rush today didn't see a problem with the lunch. It's a long time tradition that presidential foes meet together after elections. Romney is a gentleman of the old school and wouldn't break the tradition with a sore-loser-appearing snub.

Bush 2 met with Gore after that particular election......the custom is long-established.

We are still a civilized society except for the yahoos in the Obama cult and elsewhere.

Two different servings.

Romney's was SOS.

Obama's was revenge, served either hot or cold.

I knew this would be said though....

meeting a markist is not a tradition of former presidential winners. So, I disagree with ElRusho, on this one. The meeting elevates Obama as being authentic while making Mitt seem foolish to some others.

Sorry for the confusion, but my comment was not directed at you but at the writer of the article. The original article has a photo, and the error is in the caption for the photo.

No conspiracy, not at all, just a professional wrestling show for the masses. Never mind our side, how do you think the man who accused Romney of murdering wife sick of cancer feels?

We are better, you say, than a banana republic while an admitted Marxist is shredding our flawed, according to him, constitution, but serves lunch to his political opponent?

Let’s do lunch, Comrade Gus Hall, we’re not a banana republic!
