How to Make Tax Increases 100% Democrats' Fault (Vanity)
My Fertile Brain ^ | 11/29/2012 | Uncle Miltie

In the House:

Put up a bill that repeals all the Bush Tax Cuts. Have all the Republicans vote against it.

Put up a bill that makes all the Bush Tax Cuts Permanent. Have all the Republicans vote fore it.

Put up a bill that repeals the Bush Tax Cuts on the top 50% of taxpayers. Have all the Republicans abstain.

Put up a bill that repeals the Bush Tax Cuts on the top 25% of taxpayers. Have all the Republican abstain.

Keep going until a bill passes that is the maximum tax increase the Democrats pass by a majority of DEMOCRATS.

In the Senate: 100% Republican votes against every tax increase. Make the Democrats own the tax increase.

Then, any and all Tax Increases are Democrats’ fault.

I'm looking for how we keep our side clean while the dirty thing is going to happen anyway. At least let's keep cohesion and purity among the (comparatively) good guys while the Sodomites defile themselves.

Other thoughts on how to create a legislative win in these dire times are fine by me!

Not a bad idea, but Minitrue will still find a way to hang it all on the GOP.

That is a good idea. There are many good ideas being discussed. Boehner seems determined to ignore them and make sure the wrath of Americans are aimed solely at the GOP.

This is my idea.

Republicans should announce that they are letting the “Bush tax cuts for thr rich” expire. Then they announce that is the tax increase Democrats asked for.

When the Democrats start saying the middle class will be affected by this, the Republicans then attack Democrats and the media for lying to America for the last 6 years about the tax cuts.

Then vote to make the tax cuts permanent.

if they did not do this when they had all the house, senate, and whitehouse, what makes you think they can blame the democrats now.

this is their fault!!! - they could have kept this from happening 10 years ago, when there were freindly forces to work with, so no matter what happens now, they have or at least share in the blame.

That’s a good idea. Here’s another...get rid of Boehner as speaker.

Raise the O voters taxes - even if ours have to be raised too, even if we fall back into recession. With no skin in the game we can’t ever get them to listen to reason. It’s the only way to get righties out of a long march into the wilderness. The lower middle class tax brackets haven’t paid in for so long they’ve forgotten what it’s like to pay for absurd govt. Let’s remind them - now - and save the country.

Maybe we should give MoocHell her twinkie tax. If we tax the heck out of junk food, it would be impossible for the Left to disagree. They’d go for it. And the tax would primarily hit their constituents. And frankly, leftists don’t care who get hurt so long as their pieties are served.

if they did not do this when they had all the house, senate, and whitehouse, what makes you think they can blame the democrats now.

During that time, the Senate didn't have a filibuster proof majority, and the minority filibustered until the majority caved enough to get the tax cuts, but not permanent. The dem's have been trying to find a way to eliminate the tax cuts without being blamed ever since.

Unless the GOP goes into attack mode against the Demoncrat party, liberal media and federal court judges - it will continue to decline in numbers, power and influence. What's actually needed to stem the tide is to put all those who've violated their constitutional oath (and there are many) in jail. Unfortunately, this will never happen with the current Congress.

Our constitution means nothing to the majority of those elected to office today. Party, ideology and the desire to stay in power are the only things our "leaders" understand or care about. With the help of corrupt, traitorous, activist judges - the constitution has become something that can be circumvented and/or interpreted to mean whatever those in power want it to mean.

Despite our many ills, keep praying for the nation. God is able deliver His people from the Pharaoh's and Haman's of this world.

"Then vote to make the tax cuts permanent."

Yes! Hold this vote now. Bring it to the floor. An arrow across the bow of the sinking ship of state.

The Republicans should put up their best plan, publish it on the internet, and have it voted up in the House and down in the Senate.

Then the Republicans in both houses should abstain on all further votes explaining that they would not be party to the Democrat's plans.

Whatever passes is all on the Democrats and the Republicans can still claim they tried to pass a decent bill, but the Democrats were too dumb/crooked/spiteful to vote for it.

Republicans should let the Dems do whatever they want with one restriction: the name of the bill will be “The Obama and Democrat Congress-supported, Republican-Opposed Tax Bill” and ALL references to the bill must use the entire name under penalty of death.

Ann Coulter had a good idea.

In the future, all tax increases must have an expiration date, just like the Bush tax cuts have today.

Not true. The GOP was not able to get the tax cuts “permanent” through the Senate due to the filibuster, though they tried. That is wthe reason for the “10 yr” bit.
