[Video] Glenn Beck: Rand Paul, the Only Politician With a Spine
GlennBeck.com ^ | Nov 29, 2012 | Glenn Beck

Rand Paul – the only one left?

Glenn Beck
Nov 29, 2012

Glenn interviewed seemingly the only politician with a spine on radio today, Senator Rand Paul. While many Republicans are displaying a readiness to just throw out everything they said they believed in and cave to Obama, Sen. Paul is trying to hold the line. Check out the interview today in the clip above and find out how to get involved.

Surprisely, he didn't include Gov. Walker, Newt or Palin on that list..

They each are very smart if you ask me.

He has a lot of good ideas that he doesn’t equivocate on.

I have observed more common sense in Rand Paul than any politician in decades. I would vote for him even if he was a Muslim. And that takes a lot for me to vote for someone of that faith since I am intimately familiar with it.

What is best about Rand Paul is that he sticks to his principles. You get what you see and hear.

Run Rand Paul run...in 2016. I will part with my whole social security check for you even if I have to go on a diet that month.

Who picked Mitt? Beck? He endorsed Bachmann early in the primaries and then was for Santorum (not sure if he endorsed or just promoted). He supported Mitt only after all was said and done.

I don’t question Rand Paul’s spine, I question his brain. He holds extreme libertarian views and is not really a Republican...just like his wack job daddy.

Hardcore libertarians just don’t fully belong in the GOP...they only hand out their out of convenience. Rand Paul needs to stop hiding as a “Republican” and run only as a Libertarian...stand with the group he really represents.

The dedicated libertarians, stick together. Imo.

It's. Free pot. Free sex. Do as you like. Beck even admitted before he left Fox, made cozy comments supporting gay marriage. This segment was on a show which aired, a few months before he did his final show. I don't want any part of this.

You can accuse Rand Paul of being a Constitutionalist. I certainly hope that being a defender of the Constitution doesn't mean you're an "extreme libertarian."

Besides, I still remember what Ronald Reagan said about libertarianism.

Ronald Reagan: "If you analyze it I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism."

New leaders will rise up—some from unlikely places—Maybe the Entertainment world (Kelsy Gramer? or Clint Eastwood) Or the world of Talk Radio (Michael Reagan,) or maybe sports or The military (Gen. Patreus —Confess your sins—pull the rug out from under Obama and run for president—American’s are a forgiving people) Even Donald Trump might point the way for a man of Business as a new hero for the future. Many new leaders can come forth when the time comes. That time will be soon.

“You can accuse Rand Paul of being a Constitutionalist.”

Pure Horse Manure....he is a “constitutionalist” strictly from a Libertarian point of view.....which IS NOT a proper interpretation in many cases.

Look...the man can do whatever he wants....represent whatever state will elect him....he just needs to stop calling himself a Republican.

His father was a dangerous wack job on national defense...all in the name of the “constitution.” Little Rand is just like Daddy.

BTW - Don’t misquote Reagan. You know good an well his was NOT talking about “Libertarians” (moral libertines on many issues) in the misquote you use. You are just a plain liar on the level of Obama to misrepresent Reagan in that manner.

“Hardcore libertarians just don’t fully belong in the GOP...”

I agree. They are nothing like Republicans. They actually believe in a limited federal government, following the Constitution every now and then, states rights... real wack jobs those Libertarians, especially Rand Paul.

Keep on supporting the “other” Republicans that fully belong in the GOP like McCain, Romney, Boner, Bush 1, 2 and 3... Men that fully belong in the GOP and fully support big government and the progressive agenda.

I don’t agree 100% with Rand (or anyone, for that matter) but he is far and away the best representative of conservative principles in Washington, DC.

I’ll vote for Rand any day. Luckily, I am a Kentuckian and actually get to.

Welcome to Fr.

If you notice, Reagan wasn’t a libertarian, and all that you have from him is that little quote from 1975 when during his campaign, he was being interviewed by the libertarians, solely for a libertarian audience, that quote looks pretty lonely when explained.

Reagan was a conservative and did not endorse the leftism of the libertarians, although they largely supported his conservative economics.

Here is the leftists agenda hidden behind the Libertarian Party curtain.

Libertarian Party Platform:

Throw open the borders completely; only a rare individual (terrorist, disease carrier etc.) can be kept from freedom of movement through “political boundaries”.

Homosexuals; total freedom in the military, gay marriage, adoption, child custody and everything else.

Abortion; zero restrictions or impediments.

Pornography; no restraint, no restrictions.

Drugs; Meth, Heroin, Crack, and anything new that science can come up with, zero restrictions.

Advertising those drugs, prostitution, and pornography; zero restrictions.

Military Strength; minimal capabilities.

Care to explain just what is so scared about the word/label “republican”?

Personally, I could care less Rand calls himself a republican. It is much more important with whom he caucasus’s, what his ideas are, is he principled and does Rand hold to his convictions.

At last check, the “republican” brand is ready to cave on preventing tax hikes, waffling on securing spending cuts and continues to nominate losing milk toast candidates. I submit the republican label/brand has bigger, more pressing issues if the current group caves and fails to hold the line.

The GOP dies out right when converatives leave your a$$es to fend for your big gubmit Socialist's table scraps.

peace...

I cannot believe the democrats and minions are that Smart as to totally bamboozle the republicans ALL Republicans..
BUT they seem to be..

And have been so far ahead of republicans for ages they appear to be drooling apes..
Even now most republicans I see and hear are eye rolling autistic.. idiots.. droning about some “VOTE”..

When I list to myself the “forces” Obama and democrats have arrayed against the republicans..

its wondrous to behold.. i.e. FBI, CIA, NSA, BATF, IRS, Secret Service, Homeland Security, the Police and Firefighter UNIONS and all other Unions, even the Teacher Unions, Academia, most Networks, Newspapers, Magazines, HollyWierd, the Senate, much of the House, the Supremes, and God knows what else..

On top of that Voting DIED on Nov 6th..
Obviously Saul Alinsky tactics WORKED.. BRILLIANTLY...

Short of the Sheep STAMPEDEING the sheep “Are DINNER”...

Where can you get “free” pot? It will never be “free” so long as demand exists. All those nut cases who want to ban pot have their heads in sand. It is available on every city street corner in America. Just like how Al Capone became filthy rich by selling illegal booze during “prohibition”, the criminals are only ones profiting from the pot trade. May be these nut cases who are against legalizing pot are in the selling business of pot?

Disclaimer: I am Medicare age and have never smoked pot or used anything illegal. My reason: I value my health and am wise enough to realize it. I don’t even drink alcohol anymore. Never smoked. May why I can still jog 3+ miles.

Well I do. For the present, regardles of the occasional (mainly NE part of country) liberals....”Republican” is synominous with “Conservative”....at least in the eyes of the public.

Also, I loath some of the idiocy the “Libertarians” push and I want them to STOP polluting the GOP....as I want the N.E. Liberals to go as well.

These should be restricted to the same degree as the addictive mind-altering legal drug alcohol: sale only with a license, no sale to minors, etc. The War On Drugs is failing in all the ways that alcohol Prohibition failed.

(And as far as "anything new that science can come up with": they come up with new drugs because those new drugs are legal until law catches up; there will be fewer if any new drugs if they no longer enjoy that legal advantage.)

I don't understand why they preach this, though what someone does in their own homes, is their business, why should the rest of us, be conditioned or be made to go along with what is against the founding of the soul of America. While there are acknowledged problems with alcohol, I don’t think that studies have ever proven a connection with decreased IQ and schizophrenia from alcohol.

You are asking for defacto approval of drugs by the FDA that have shown that at least 2% of those who use the drugs develop schizophrenia with heavy use.

How many people do you know, who you would describe as having fried their brains on drugs? I’ve known several, several people who were hospitalized for mental illness that the doctors described as drug related.

The recent studies connect heavy marijuana use with schizophrenia. I had a friend whose brother spent most of his adult life in and out of mental hospitals due to a condition that the doctors said was the result of heavy drug use. My friend swore that the drug was just marijuana.

While there are acknowledged problems with alcohol,

Why do you effectively ignore those problems and focus solely on IQ and schizophrenia?

I don’t think that studies have ever proven a connection with decreased IQ

That was indicated only in those who used during adolescence; has nay such study even been done for alcohol?

and schizophrenia from alcohol.

You are asking for defacto approval of drugs by the FDA that have shown that at least 2% of those who use the drugs develop schizophrenia with heavy use.

No, what's been shown is a correlation between marijuana and schizophrenia - which can equally well be explained by schizophrenia leading to an attempt to self-medicate with marijuana, or by a common factor that leads to both marijuana use and schizophrenia.

"But here's the conundrum: while marijuana went from being a secret shared by a small community of hepcats and beatniks in the 1940s and '50s to a rite of passage for some 70% of youth by the turn of the century, rates of schizophrenia in the U.S. have remained flat, or possibly declined. For as long as it has been tracked, schizophrenia has been found to affect about 1% of the population." (http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,2005559,00.html)
