The owner of a company that recently won a $99.4 million janitorial contract from Mayor Rahm Emanuels administration was the longtime business partner of a man accused of involvement in organized crime.

Just because the putative “owner” is a brother-in-law, or cousin, of a known mob figure, doesn’t suggest the mob isn’t in actual control.
Don’t be confused, the Chicago mob, supplanted the local Mafia, decades ago.
The Sun-Times needs to get a better editor. In in Chicago it’s called the Outfit.
It goes back farther than that. Butch O’Hare, a genuine war hero, for whom the airport was named, was the son of a man who was Al Capone’s lawyer. Betcha’ didn’t know that.
