Vanity Post; Problem with Michele Bachmann
Self | 11-30-2012 | MissEdie

Posted on 11/30/2012 8:52:04 AM PST by MissEdie

Ok, last night my hubby shared with me a little secret about a Christmas present he tried to get for me last year. Does anyone remember the Michele Bachmann autobiography? Well, knowing I was a big fan and supporter of hers he paid over $125 to get me a personalized copy of her book. He paid for it over a year ago and we are still waiting on that book (or a refund) to appear. After speaking repeatedly to the publishing company about the issue, he has contacted her Congressional office, tried to email her, and even attempted to contact her campaign staff. Everyone affiliated with her has given him the run-around. No one associated with Michele Bachmann has tried to make it right. Either give us the book he paid for, or give him a refund.

I am embarrassed for Michele. It is ignorance or fraud to have the ability to take in money and sell stuff, but fail to deliver anything in return.

There are a few testimonies, on FR, against Romney for similar reasons in reverse. Their checks get cashed alright, but offers to volunteer their time or free services warranted not even an acknowledgment.

No offense M.E. But why would you want an autobiography of Michele Bachmann? I can’t imagine a more boring book.

Bachmann ping.

I like Michele Bachmann's conservative record. She is a very good Congresswoman. However, Michele Bachmann's ill-advised run for POTUS was truly a major obstruction to nominating a non-Romney conservative in the 2012 GOP primary. Mitt had to love Michele's 'not ready for prime time' campaign as it diluted support from other more realistic competitors. She also was the first to launch meaningless attacks on other conservatives (but not Mitt) in a vain attempt to stay relevant in the campaign. She was shrill, overplayed meaningless differences and was as responsible as any of the candidates for leaving us with Romney. IMHO.

Start posting stuff on her Facebook Page like “When am I going to get my signed book I paid for over 1 year ago?”; “Why did you take $125 from me but not give me my signed book?”;

I agree. We need her in congress, but she was absolutely a negative drain on the primary process. She, as you said, was not ready for prime time, and she rarely mentioned Obama - focusing instead on intramural food fights. She wasn’t the only one who did that, but she was part of it.

I know $125 isn't a lot of money.

Then shut up. For too many in this economy it's 17.5 hours work *if* they can get scheduled that many hours in a week.

"Wow, I would never admit that."

Why not? It would go good with your Newt-line of men's jewelry from Tiffany's.

I’ve heard that was the #1 most common complaint of people living in her district. While she’s out making speeches and running for higher office, you can’t get her staff to respond to basic requests for help on relevant issues.

Oh, nice try. Not really.

Small minds are consumed with people. Big minds are consumed by ideas. You are consumed by the Santorum cult souveniers, like the sweater vest. Others were consumed by the family image, other little irrelevant niceties, etc. Fine.
Knock yourself out.

The only thing about Newt that was ever interesting where his ideas. That was the major difference between Santorum backers and Newt backers. Half were idea people, the other half wore half sweaters.

"The only thing about Newt that was ever interesting where his ideas."

Like the, "pathway to non-deportation"?

Like, "Few challenges are as urgent as global climate change"?

Like passing the Lautenburg Amendment in the "Gun Free Schools Act"?

Yes, they are "interesting" ideas in much the same way a train wreck is, "interesting."

As an aside...you wrote, "Small minds are consumed with people. Big minds are consumed by ideas. You are consumed by the Santorum cult souveniers, like the sweater vest."

You presume way too much, and clearly display your ignorance when you aver that I'm consumed by cult souveniers. You don't even know me, and my only point in bringing it up here is in the context of pols who deliver on their promises. You are the one who started with the childish snarky comment, so I would submit that you are the one who is consumed by the notion. That a person remarking on receipt of a fund raising incentive would elicit such a visceral response which really contributes nothing to the discussion says far more about you than my sweater vest says about me.

I’m not really insulted. LOL. I’m a self reliant conservative. I root for everyone to be well off, even better off than me.

There was a time about 5 years ago when I carried a C-note in my wallet. It’s been a 5 year fall from grace. We are in the slow hard grind to get back to the old standards. We’ll do fine in the long run. We’re smart, determined and hard working. We have given up the pursuit of wealth and retirement for the time being. But we are rich in faith, family and spirit.

Don’t think another moment about it.

No, those are not good ideas. And yet, he was the only one who had any good ideas. And more to the point, he was the only one who could persuade anyone out of the entire group. He was the only one with any talent, flawed as he was. And yes, he was flawed. But he was talented.

RS is not, and never will be.
