George Zimmerman's legal team has asked a judge to force an attorney for Trayvon Martin's family to turn over to the defense a recorded interview with the witness described as the teen's girlfriend.
According to Benjamin Crump, an attorney representing Trayvon's family, the girlfriend was on the phone with 17-year-old Trayvon moments before he was shot by Zimmerman on Feb. 26.
At issue is a recorded interview Crump conducted with the girl, identified in prosecution documents as Witness 8. Crump played a portion of his talk with Witness 8 at a press conference in late March.
Crump has said that Witness 8 is 16 years old, but the defense writes in its motion that she is actually 18. She has not been publicly identified by either the state or defense, pursuant to a judge's order.
Witness 8's testimony may prove crucial to the state's case, because her account of events corroborates the state's assertion that Zimmerman pursued Trayvon before the shooting in Sanford.
In a new motion, defense attorney Don West refers to Witness 8 as the state's "star witness."
A copy of Crump's interview with Witness 8 already turned over to the defense is unintelligible, West argues in the new motion, urging the judge to order Crump to provide the original.
Circuit Judge Debra Nelson previously ruled Crump should bring the recording to his deposition by the defense, but West argues the defense needs the recording before his and other depositions...

I guess my question is, why the defense has not had this and all the other information they have been asking for?
I can’t believe that this charade is still in the news. The people in this country definitely have way too much free time on their hands.
Because show trials are held to a different set of standards.
The prosecution has a real problem with this witness because the time line isn’t showing he was on the phone when they say it happened.. This gal was twittering funny stuff after they say that she was all broken up over hearing him die.. Didn’t happen!
They are going to have to drop this before trail.. They are trying to scare him into cutting a deal, so they can save their face if not their a$$.. LOL
I really want to see Prosecutor Corey go the way of Mike Nifong and some of these cops loose their jobs and have to pay huge fines. This whole Zimmerman-Martin Case is based on Bravo Sierra orchestrated by the politically correct. I also hope Zimmerman's legal team goes after the media for their part in this high tech lynching.
If Trayvon Martin was a white kid....there is no criminal case

Trayvon Martin shooter George Zimmerman is suing NBC over the network’s botched editing of his 911 tape, Page Six can exclusively reveal. We hear Zimmerman’s attorneys are about to file a complaint against NBC and its top executives, naming news president Steve Capus and correspondent Ron Allen, who was the reporter on the scene for the broadcast on “Today” on March 27.

What's a matter with this judge??? You're dealing with a con man here. He's not going to bring it to the deposition. You are going to have to deal with this in open court. Swear him in and play the tape that he turns over and if not audible then toss him in the clink.

It turns out that the state has been lying all along and covering for Crump’s lies. The state’s star witness DeeDee was 18 all along and never a minor in this case, and much more ......
Zimmermann must be terrified of the likely makeup of his jury, considering the liberalism of FL people.
