Syndicated columnist and FOX News contributor Charles Krauthammer, in his trademark deadpan way, tells Weekly Standard's Bill Kristol he is turning into a socialist.

They both are!
Understatement of the decade!
Yes, right on!
Takes one to know one.
And Kristol laughed and admitted it.
But did you hear what K said about Boener? That was mortifying.
And Kristol laughed and admitted it.
>>>But did you hear what K said about Boener? That was mortifying.
What did he say?
I agree —I don’t think Kristol is really one of us, and I don’t think he likes the Tea Party.
Krauthammer lost all credibility when he became an apologist for John Roberts and his Obamacare ruling.
CK is a Dem isn’t he ? He was Mondale’s speechwriter
Kristol—just another fauxcon. Always has been, always will be.
Yep, he goes way back blurring Conservatism so folks don’t know what the heck it stands for, as he passes himself off as our voice.
I’ve more or less despised the guy for several decades now. Kristol
As for Krauthammer, he’s not one of us either, but he is far more capable of stringing a decent thought together and sounding like one of us from time to time. Kristol, not so much.
They both take slots that a really good Conservative should be positioned in. And in this manner, they actually silence our voices. It’s a real shame.
I hated Bill Kristol in “When Harry Met Sally”.
Thanks i88schwartz.
Exactly.
They’re both “neo-conservatives.”
While the left likes to hurl around the term “neo-con” very loosely, what they don’t know and don’t admit is that there are real neo-conservatives, and what they really are.
Neo-conservatives are left-wing American Jews who figured out in the early 70’s that their Democratic party buddies are soft on Israel and really don’t like Jews. So these red diaper Jews cuddled up to the Republican party on the subject of Israel.
This has produced strange bedfellows such as Kristol for years - Kristol is no conservative on domestic issues, and certainly not on domestic social issues. Come to think of it, neo-conservatives don’t give a rat’s ass is the US goes broke on military mis-adventures in the middle east trying to triangulate the defense of Israel.
It’s long since past time for the Republican party to eject these clowns and send them packing and get down to what conservatives need to address in the US today - cutting the federal budget, defending the value of the dollar, getting fiscal and monetary policies under control.
If Jews want to defend Israel, then they can pony up the money to do it themselves. It isn’t the problem of the US taxpayer.
Come on folks, think about it. What does Obama mean when he says he doesn’t want to raise taxes on the middle class? It means he doesn’t want to raise taxes on government employees. Who here thinks Obama gives a rat’s behind about an auto repair business or a florist or a C-Store? He doesn’t. Raising taxes on the middle class to him means that a big block of Democrat voters will be going into the 2014 with less money, and they’ll have the Democrats to thank. Don’t even talk to Obama. It’s time his side took a sock in the mouth for voting so stupid. And yes, I’m middle class.
I don’t think so.
I don't think Krauthammer likes the Tea Party, either.
In fact, I think everybody in Washington hates the Tea Party.
That's fair. I hate them, too.
They both take slots that a really good Conservative should be positioned in. And in this manner, they actually silence our voices. Its a real shame.
You are so right. Thanks for saying this. I cannot watch Kristol and CK any longer. They really have misrepresented their intentions. CK is the GOP-e sneaky guy out front, to pull the people the way they want; so clever.
You make a great point but who else would they vote for if Obama made them pay higher taxes. They won’t vote republican so Obama knows he has them trapped into voting dem too!
I always though he was a fag and a Commie.
Hilarious!
Saved for future emails to “liberal” friends
Krauthammer is one of the most intelligent commentators out there. I don’t agree with some of his more libertarian positions, and I bet that in a one-on-one debate I could corner him on some of those points. But give him credit: he has some of the best though-out assessments of Obama, and he is willing to come out and make these public. The left hates him, which is a good sign that he is hitting home.
Some of the posters here are far too wild in attacking imperfections in allies. You take support where you can find it. Few public figures are perfect, after all.
You forgot a rather important one:
WE MAKE THINGS IN AMERICA.
Nope. They can stay home. They can not contribute to the Democrat party. We don’t have to turn them all into Republicans. We just have to show once, just once, that there’s a cost for voting Democrat. Take her over the cliff! Happy landings SEIU!
He, also, said if anyone doesn’t approve of the TSA they should stay home. FUKraut
All too often he is. It’s a real shame.
I’m not sure what selection process is employed to pick these talking heads, but I wish Fox would consult with some true Conservatives, to get someone that will provide some real Conservative viewpoints. I am talking about the exact format those two are involved in though.
There are actually some fairly good people on Fox at other times. Sadly, Fox passes too many people off as the Conservative voice, when they really aren’t.
I don’t think it’s by design (and of course I could be wrong), but I don’t think the management truly understands the Conservative message enough to know they’re blowing it big-time.
Yes, I remember Krauthammer being downright appalled at the “town hall protests,” basically saying how undignified it was and how it would backfire on the Republicans. Ditto for the “tea party.”
Krauthammer can offer some interesting insight sometimes on certain issues, but when it comes to grassroots/populism/mid-America, he has a massive blind-spot. I’m also reminded of when Palin made her famous “death panel” Facebook posting, and Krauthammer condescendingly said she should ‘leave the room’... and then he himself pretty much repeated all the anti-Obamacare points she had just made in her post!
Why do you hate the Tea Party?
When you boil it all down, it’s not so much left vs right, nor liberal vs conservative, nor even Democrat vs Republican, it’s Washington vs the rest of us.
Good post. Rational, not emotional.
You misread my comment. I hate "them" is everybody in Washington, too.
The complacent don’t have ‘fire in the belly’.
A condesending pr*ck, who displays a 'there is no one smarter than me' attitude and then steals from them.
Kinda precious that Kraut, who is Amnesty Liberal (and Liberal on some other things), is calling Bill Kristol a “Socialist”
Can’t Fox News hire some Real Conservative talking heads?
"Yes. It is the Potomac Swamp Fever that eventually grabs all of them.
With the generous compensation and ego stroking they automatically receive, they also come to realize that there are several hundred million Americans and a $20+ billion economy either working for them via taxes, or offering support commiserate to the handouts they grant, I have come to believe that few if any can survive that Potomac Swamp Fever.
I am convinced that no one in the Washington establishment wants to see the government contracted --- to get smaller. It is not in their interests even if it is to the greater good.
Unless we can control and restrain the growth of government, we are lost.
Unclear antecedant. My animus is directed toward Washington, D.C. -- not the Tea Party.
I can’t watch Fox News much anymore, largely because of the talking heads it employs. It’s time the channel sheds the usual pundits and contributors and brings in some new blood. A few real conservatives would be preferable.
However, given who owns Fox, I doubt any change will ever happen.
They are both neo-conservatives. In other words, they are old school Democrats.
They, old school Democrats, were supplanted in their party by Marxists. The old school Democrats who couldn’t put up with Marxists are now called Republicans.
Old fashioned conservative Republicans are an endangered species. There is Rand Paul, Jim Demint, Michelle Bachmann, Sarah Palin, and that’s about it. Oh, and a few Freepers. And that is definitely it.
Understatement of the year. Too many folks here spend too much ammo shooting at allies instead of the enemy.
I am convinced you are absolutely correct.
I'm not a Jew, (or a Fundamentalist Christian for that matter looking for Armageddon) but I'll gladly pony up my money to defend Israel. They are the only outpost of civilization in that hell hole of a region, and I think it is important to all people who love civilization they they survive.
In a sense, Israel today is on the front line between civilization and barbarism.
Think about it.
Krautpusher vs. Krystal..
“No you are”.. “No you are”.. “No you are”.. “No you are”.. “No you are”..
Yes exactly. It is sort of a elitist east coast style thing. We need some conservatives who can put on airs, act sort of snooty and refined and preach our message but on the surface look like a DC insider. Getting on these shows is another question. Whether it makes us puke is irrelevant. Play their game and infiltrate in a sneaky less direct way.
