Liberal Democrats: Higher rates for wealthy 'just the beginning'
The Hill ^ | 11-30

Posted on 11/30/2012 6:42:51 PM PST by Arthurio

A group of House Democrats has formed its own “Gang of Six” to push for progressive tax reform — in which the expiration of the Bush-era tax rates for the wealthiest Americans is “just the beginning.”

I think it is about time that we stop beating up on Boehner and McConnell all the time and say a few prayers for them instead.

They’re the only things standing in the way of Hugo Chavez style dictatorship in this country.

Tax increases for rich is a dumb idea.... and resonates with people who don’t pay taxes and don’t vote republican.

Screw’em dare Obama to take over the cliff and hike taxes on everyone.... his second term will be a bust, and his legacy will be trash.

Democrats want to enslave all Americans, taking away all our property and freedom .

It’s about time we at least name the threat = the democrat party. This democrat communist Obama stole the election and wants to steal all our property.

My plan if we can ever get another election is:

Abolish all of the federal government except for defense and border and immigration control( do not let any more immigrants in legal or illegals). What do we need this stupid gigantic government for anyway ? for nothing . That means no more IRS, EPA, HUD, FEC , FCC, TSA, gov schools, dept of education, etc.

I have more but have to go.

Here we go again. Democrats threatening to be socialists. OK. Let’s give them some. In a show of support for the average American who is struggling to get by, Congressman Denny Rehberg, R-MT, introduced a bill requiring the President, his cabinet and staff, all nationally elected officials and all government employees in the Washington, D.C. Area to grow and eat their own food. Let’s see how socialist these phonies are when they’re in the barn at 5am milking the cows. These are some “Soft-Hand Socialists” who’ve never had to shovel cow crap. They could give their excess produce to the poor. Live like a socialist or shut up about it. This is all show by them. Let’s see some real socialism.

Nothing will change for quite a while. I am beginning to wonder if it wouldn’t be best if the Marxists gain control of the House and get a super-majority in the Senate in two years. Emboldened, they will attempt to seize 401(k)’s and IRA’s.

That is when the shooting war begins, Washington burns to the ground and Democrat politicians are left to mob justice. These United States were born from the ashes of revolution against a tyrannical government. It is almost time for a re-birth.

“They’re the only things standing in the way of Hugo Chavez style dictatorship in this country.”

Sorry Arthurio, they need to be replaced if they are bent on giving away our country as their actions to date have shown. Both of them have exemplified serious weakness in their leadership. Boner in particular, has had feet of clay. At this juncture, I am going to pray that their respective caucuses find it in their hearts to replace the both if them with effective leadership. Personally, I’d be happy to see Newt as Speaker once again. And put either Paul or Rubio in charge in the Senate. Either of those guys would have Harry Reid’s jockstrap, torn and bloody, hanging on their office door.

Easily said ~ now, about taxes ~ we need a tax that hits Democrat hard but leaves Republicans alone.

The real negotiating strength for the Republicans is the middle class tax increase. Who in their right mind thinks that Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi care about the middle class in THE PRIVATE SECTOR? Now, they care a lot about the middle class in THE PUBLIC SECTOR. That’s one of their big voting blocks. You start talking about less take home pay and smaller income tax refunds to teachers and EPA employees and county truck drivers and all of a sudden you’re right in the middle of Democratland. They care about their money and the Democrats care about their votes. Here’s how the Republicans should talk about this.

“We have worked hard to solve our nation’s financial problems. We negotiated in good faith with the Democrats and came up with a bill that would help solve the country’s financial problems. This program will cause tax rates, across the financial spectrum, to rise to help pay our bills. The Democrats agreed to this program. Now, they want to back out of their deal and cause our country financial misery in an effort to grandstand and score political points. We think that the program, while not perfect, is a step in the right direction. President Obama has been clear that he wants to raise taxes, and at this time, we support him, though Republicans really don’t like raising taxes on anyone. The Republican Party does not approve of giving the President more money to just waste, so we do not support his request for additional hard-earned tax money beyond the rising tax rates. We look forward in a year from now, to see how these tax increases that the Democrats have so long desired affect EVERYONE in this country. Thank-you.

This is such a spread out country ~ 60' minimum right of way for streets ~ mob violence has never worked well to get anything done ~ best you can get is maybe 1/10 of 1% of the local population out to do some burning, killing and looting, and all that happens is the others go 'tut tut' and start holding trials.

Just not your Russian Great Grandpappy's sort of country I can tell you that!

we need a tax that hits Democrat hard but leaves Republicans alone.

Add a few more things to the "sin tax" list - anything that has had costly consequences for the taxpayers.
Democrats would freak. The entire democrat base would have to pay.

The only way to save this country is the sharing of the WORK rather than the wealth, but the lazy left wing freeloaders would never stand for it. As long as they can elect politicians to do the stealing for them, they're just fine and dandy the way things are.

In my neck of the woods, the famous symphony conductor from Venezuela is in town and is receiving a lot of publicity, both in performances and on the airwaves of the local classical music station. I wonder if there's a leftist push to promote Venezuelan culture and with it (subtly) Venezuelan politics, up to and including Venzuelan-style "elections." Maybe I'm just being cynical.

(Though I must admit to a long-standing fondness for Venezuelan chocolate. Mmm mmm good.)

It always amazes me how little many FReepers understand about how manufacturing works in this country. They seem to have the impression that a roll of steel rolls in one end of a factory and a finished car rolls out the other.

It just don’t work that way. A factory might have their one big bread and butter job but they’ll have a half dozen other smaller jobs running at the same time for any number of other companies. I once went to the far end of the shop where I made door skins for Cadillac and found a press pumping out frisbees for a special Wham-O run.

I was reading one of many posts shared here on this forum and I noticed Rush Limabugh spoke with Mitch McConnell. Rush says about these guys that they just do not have the guts (yet) to take on Obama in the way it needs to be done. I have been praying for a very long time for them to realize Obama is very serious about his view of transformation to our country. I know others are praying for them as well.

They are not doing their best. Newt pointed out that they have been in talks secretly with the dems all along. Yes, the House is our only hope to push the unconstitutionally actions from this WH back. I feel as though, they could do much more. They are afraid and that is what Rush was sharing. At the right time, we need to replace them with leaders who have a spine or guts.

How much longer will it take until people refuse to work, band together, to go protest so to clean up this mess in Washington. It's our country.. we are getting this since we allow this to go on. I hope they do not increase taxes nor sign that huge democrat bill. Like Newt said, either walk away, repubs/hold firm to no higher taxes or if you have already made deals behind closed doors, don't support the increase of taxes and the increasing the size of more government (break the huge bill up into small bills of things that will work, Newt's advise). The current Speaker is way too friendly with Obama. I get protocol but you don't associate with your political opponent to where it sends out a message of, we're good friends/our message is to work together. Just my thoughts.

So it looks like a Toyota for you?

How much of the car contains U.S. parts?

Toyota Camry: 80 percent. Ford Escape: 65 percent.

And the Toyota creates more American jobs

link

Chevrolet Silverado = 61% made in the USA

Toyota Tundra = 80% made in the USA.

Ford F series = 60% made in the USA

I am still waiting for the dems to define or tell us what is the “fair share” he thinks the “millionaires and billionairs” should pay in taxes. Of course most of us think the wealthy should pay their fair share, but what IS their fair share??? Apparently, these socialists refuse to tell us so they can move the Fair share upward every few years—until they take all most of us have.

First... its not “our” country anymore and there is no “taking it back. The last best hope is to concentrate in the remaining red states to build them and try to hold the line until the rest of the country just collapses. When it does, and it will, the conservative forces can start again to gain footholds into the blue states inch by inch.

This is Red Dawn..... III
