A growing number of Republicans in the House of Representativesincluding a handful of Tea Party-backed conservativesare signaling greater flexibility than their leaders to reach a fiscal cliff deal with President Barack Obama.
They are not buckling on demands to slash spending or agreeing with Obamas exact proposals to avert across-the-board tax hikes and spending cuts set to start on January 1. But unlike House Speaker John Boehner, they suggest they would be open to higher tax rates on wealthy Americans as part of a broader deal to slash deficits.
Obama is hoping to appeal to more potential renegades to get a deal to avoid the massive tax hikes and spending cuts that economists say could tip the economy into a recession. If we can get a few House Republicans on board, we can pass the bill ... I'm ready to sign it, Obama said on Friday at an event in Pennsylvania.

Are they kidding?
Obama might as well ask for the Congress to be dissolved and let him rule by decree and we’d get the same kind of stories
Reuters is just putting the bait out there to see if any Republican will bite.
“...they would be open to higher tax rates on wealthy Americans as part of a broader deal to slash deficits.”
Get rid of these new elected traitors and bring in replacements.
Also, quit funding them as of NOW.
Something about Washington bends a man leftward. It is a measure of their true character.
Why would anyone believe anything said by a politician? It was only an oath given in exchange for votes. They take the oath, they get the votes. Deal done. Now, both the vote and the oath have expired. On to the next election cycle.
Oh enough will bend to give Hussein what he wants. Just wait.
BTW, thanks GOP elite SO much for sticking us with Romney. *eye roll*
Say it with me, kids: We don’t HAVE a revenue problem, we have a spending problem.
We have to let them know where we stand on this, or they will do what suits them. Politicians are a lot like water taking the course of least resistance.
Communicate what it is they need to know. They will be toast if they agree to anything with that SOB, and his crew of Leftist idiots.
I’m keepin’ a list and checkin’ it twice!
Disinformation campaign by Reuters. What else is new. Put words in their mouths and claim it as fact.
We need a “kitchen cabinet” made up of real people (NOT politicians) to help our elected since it seems they never had to pay bills, nor save up for something they wanted to buy but couldn’t afford yet, and I think they never had to make a budget. Instead of asking someone (their wives, maybe) they don’t seem to figure a way out of this mess they have helped get us into!
Maybe they’re distracted by trying to keep us out of the islamaic brotherhood!
And what exactly is an LCR?

Let the spending cuts happen. Cut spending.
Also, quit funding them as of NOW.
One of the big mystery’s of this entire fiasco centers’ around the House rep’s reluctance to simply de-fund obamacare..no cuts, no obamacare. I have not read or heard of that being a possible option. I think that the rep’s secretly want to raise taxes on the rich, but it’s good theatre and high drama to continue with this charade..pathetic.
It’s no mystery. The GOP isn’t against ObamaCare. It increases the power and perq’s of elected Republicans, so why would they vote to defund it? That’s the dirty secret, elected Republicans are only out for one thing, their own power. Screw the great unwashed (you know, us their voters).
