Its a decision President Barack Obama put off during the 2012 campaign, but now that hes won a second term, his next move on a proposed oil pipeline between the U.S. and Canada may signal how he will deal with climate and energy issues in the four years ahead.
Obama is facing increasing pressure to determine the fate of the $7 billion Keystone XL project, with environmental activists and oil producers each holding out hope that the president, freed from the political constraints of re-election, will side with them on this and countless other related issues down the road.
On its surface, its a choice between the promise of jobs and economic growth and environmental concerns. But its also become a proxy for a broader fight over American energy consumption and climate change, amplified by Superstorm Sandy and the conclusion of an election that was all about the economy.

Canada Ping!
Just freaking build it, what is Hussein going to do about it? And who made it his decision??
Ditto...just build it.
Keystone and ‘superstorm’ (LOL) Sandy have NOTHING to do with each other.
WWOD? What will Obama do?
Answer: Whatever will impoverish his non-cronies. Whatever will endanger our national security. Whatever will embolden and enable IslamoNazis. Whatever will offend and bankrupt White People. Whatever will promote chaos.
If it could be redesigned to generate solar and wind power and pump sunshine he would OK it. Otherwise forget it.
Jeeze AP! People did not re-elect Obama because of the economy. If the economy was the case, he wouldn't have been re-elected. People/children voted for Santa Claus!
You don’t appreciate the inside joke.
Look at the AP writer’s first name again.
Any energy project that produces more energy than it consumes (fracking, natural gas, coal, etc.) will be vetoed.
Any energy project that consumes more energy than it produces (solar, wind, bioreactors, etc.) will have billions of dollars thrown at them that will wind up in the pockets of crony capitalists with nothing to show for it.
Any questions?
Decisions, decisions...
I agree, and no, no questions.
But can we stop using the term “crony capitalist?”
True capitalists respect the markets, obtain their own initial capital for investments, understand that there must be competition for those markets to be free, and are willing to lose if they take a chance and fail.
Those that collude with the government do so to obtain taxpayer money as their investment money, to control a monopoly, to eliminate choice from by those in the market, and want their losses to be paid for by the taxpayer.
There is nothing “capitalist” about them, except the worst definition of that term, which is the definition the left is trying to associate with capitalists (greedy, thieving, monopolists).
It was a mistake when Palin coined or popularized this term.
Those that collude with the government for the above reasons leave the ranks of capitalists and technically they are fascists, but the US citizenry is so illiterate they will not understand that term.
So we must change the language to control the argument and the perception.
We must not allow them to associate the evil that those who collude with the government with capitalism. It belongs with the socialists/statists/fascists/communists.
The better and more accurate term is “Corporate Socialists.”
I think I'll use that from now on.
I believe you are correct sir.
I believe you are correct sir.
Oops
UN Ambassador Susan Rice and her husband own between 300,000 and 600,000 shares of Trans Canada Company. This is the Company that will build the XL Pipeline.
Since Susan lied for Benghazi-Coward Obama so that he might be re-elected, Obama has promised her the Sec. Of State job when Hilly steps down.
The Federal Security and Exchange Commission should try Susan Rice and Obama for insider trading, collusion, and using their governmental positions to influence themselves financially.
” - - - It would be one of the first decisions she would make, and shes not qualified to make an unbiased decision, said Jane Kleeb, the executive director of Bold Nebraska. - - - “
The corruption in Communist Obamanation continues - - - .
