What is going on at Yellowstone? Looking at the helicorder for Norris Junction for the past couple of days they either have a severely malfunctiong seismograph machine or something big is affecting the area. Any thoughts from those who watch this area? Is this normal?

If this is normal activity, feel free to delete. It just looks really strange and wanted to get some Freeper feedback.

Looks like equipment malfunction to me.
It’s too steady and consistent to be real seismic activity.
Unless those underground Mayans are gettin’ ready to partay...

Warming up for 12/21/2012.
It's the BIG ONE baby.
Seriously, though. I was at the Steamboat Geyser on May 3, 2000 with my wife and three small children when the thing went up. It was the biggest eruption in almost a century and went on for several days. Unbelievably loud. And knowing what's right under the surface at Yellowstone somewhat scary as well...

My guess is that some scrappers stole the recording device and are heading across the country with it in the back of their old pickup.....

That's just electronic noise; static.
...or it's the aliens' jamming frequency.

That was an M 6.4 earthquake in Vanuatu (in the South Pacific) on the South Dakota display.

It’s also possible it’s wind. They’ve been having a strong storm the last couple of days.

They found Sasquatch walking around up there.

As you say could be wind.
The Vanuatu plot is loud and clear, but no sign of the noise from Utah's recorder.
I've been over several systems in the last half hour ,the only one reporting this noise (that i’ve found) is Utah University.
One of the sites over here is very prone to noise from the Americas, for some reason, and there is no sign of this on there either.

From one of the most awesome Bugs Bunny cartoons made...Bugs (disguised as some famous orchestra conductor named Leopold) forces this guy to hold a high note until he (literally) brings the house down.
