BOEHNER: I Looked At Geithner And I Said, 'You Can't Be Serious?'

House Speaker John Boehner told host Chris Wallace on "Fox News Sunday" that President Barack Obama is "not being serious" about proposing a deal to avert the so-called "fiscal cliff," slamming the president and Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner's initial offer.

"It was not a serious offer," Boehner said. "I looked at [Geithner] and I said, 'You can't be serious?'

"You know, we've got several weeks between Election Day and the end of the year. And three of those weeks have been wasted with this nonsense."

“we need cuts and reforms that are greater than the increase in the debt limit”

What increase in the debt limit? I thought the pubbies weren’t going to raise the debt limit, hence the reason why they call it a LIMIT??!!

Boehner doesn’t have a clue what is going on. Apparently he laughed at Tim Geithner because the Democrats put forth a ludicrous plan.

Who the hell cares? Is this supposed to show that Republicans are “on to” the Democrats?? We know they are a joke? Their plan is ridiculous, and we’re going to tell the world?

Who the hell cares? What are the Republicans prepared to do? I say that they are prepared to do nothing at all, except pretend to be outraged and to perform a little Kabuki theater about being an opposition party.

The Republicans need to stop laughing. They need to push Obama to be more Obama-like, and they need to vote “present” when the bad bills come up for a vote. Let the country’s decline steepen. Put Democrat fingerprints all over it. If the Republicans try to provide any assistance in steering this ship, then 100% of the blame for the result will be on the GOP. Don’t they see that?? Or are they too busy yukking it up?

The best thing to do to when a lame duck president puts forth lame-brained ideas is to quack back at him.

Why pretend, bonehead?

You’ll bend over and get Geithnered in your Obama, so why put on a show?

Don’t you sometimes wish you had been born with the ability to produce testosterone?

And why negotiate with Geithner? Geithner has no vote, any dealing with him is a worthless waste of time.

Maybe if Boehner realizes before its too late what is really going on, he will gather the courage to go nuclear on election certification.

This is what is so frustrating to me.

Boehner could literally appoint himself president by exposing Obama for the fraud he is... simply by forcing the president to cough up his eligibility credentials.

The real nice thing about that would be that we could roll back the last 4 years of socialism 100 times faster.

But I know he wont do it cause he’s a coward.

” - - - Boehner said. “I looked at [Geithner] and I said, ‘You can’t be serious?’ - - - “

Since Sobber of the House Boehner hasn’t figured out that the Obama Administration is only seeking the REVENGE of Communist Party Member Frank Marshall Davis, Boehner must be dumber than a bag of hammers and sickles.

The sooner the House RINOs dump Boehner, the better.

The House Republicans could just vote on and pass Obama’s Simpson-Bowles Commission recommendations. They won’t have to actually think too much about it. Just stick together and put the ball back into the Dim’s and Obama’s court. I really don’t want the Repub’s to think about this as they tend to lose their collective spines.

He thinks Bonehead is a sucker. Which of course he is.
Bonehead is too stupid to realize that Gietner dis-respected him.

I've made it clear to the president that every time we get to the debt limit, we need cuts and reforms that are greater than the increase in the debt limit.

Yep, and every time you roll over. What's your point?

Don’t they see that??

As obvious as everything that you said is, I have little doubt that they do not understand (or if they do, they do not care). One way or another, Boehner is going to make sure that the Democrats are successful in pinning the upcoming (and inevitable) recession and/or collapse on the Republicans. We must have a responsible bi-partisan effort, of course. And Boehner will provide that, not understanding that he will be throwing this country under the bus, in doing so. I would love to see the Republican establishment surprise me, but I don't see it happening.

Mr Boehner should not be negotiating with Mr Geithner. Boehner is the leader of one of the co-equal branches of government. Mr Geithner is not! Aside of being a tax cheat, Geithner is merely a secretary for the administration..... If Obama doesn’t want to talk to Boehner, then Boehner should pass a bill making permanent all of the Bush tax cuts and go home for the holidays......

That’s okay. I take one look at Boehner and say the same thing.

obama will settle for half of what gaetner brought to the table. Boehner will say he compromised, obama will take credit for working both sides of the aisle, and the american people get screwed.
