Thanks for the ping. I said on one of the early threads that septicemia is a systemic infection, and not the result of not getting an abortion. While a dead baby in the womb could cause the infection, chances are it was something else and she happened to be pregnant at the time.

Kitty Holland, the reporter of the "Irish Times" who originally broke the story that went around the globe, now has admitted that she had not checked any of the facts.

In considering what passes for journalistic ethics and integrity these days, Mz. Holland must be on the Pulitzer short list.
