WACO (December 3, 2012)Waco police were looking for two men Monday after a local convenience store clerk was injured in an exchange of gunfire during a robbery.
At around 9:20 p.m. Sunday, two men, one of whom was armed, entered the Snacks convenience store at 2901 North 18th St, police said.
The 48-year-old clerk, whose name wasnt released, was also armed, however, and he and the robber exchanged gunfire.
Both would-be robbers fled, police said, but the armed man returned to the store and he and the clerk exchanged gunfire for a second time and then began struggling over the weapons.
During the struggle the store clerk was struck several times with a gun in the head and face and suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, police said.
The robber escaped with the clerks gun and an undisclosed amount of cash.
The clerk was taken to a local hospital.
The armed man was black, bald, about 5-foot-9, weighed about 210 pounds and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and tan pants.
The second man was also black and was short with a thin build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black shorts, police said.
More range time.
Anything worth doing is worth overdoing.
OMG an actual description.
Black men wearing black hoodies.
I was just going to post that Freepers will post "He needs more range time"
I guess the opposite would be white men wearing white hoodies and holding up a black owned/staffed convenience store. Not very likely in this life in this universe. A lot of nice black staffers at my local Racetrack gas station
I bet the perps left very clear DNA evidence hither and yon, which will be a slam dunk if they are already in the system; and means that any future offense will nail them as well.
This was becoming such a pain to criminals a few years ago, that police noted repeat offenders were carrying bottles of chlorine bleach with them to splash on anything they might have left a unique (not mixed with other people’s) DNA on.
I once read a story in “Guns” magazine by Col. Charles Askins. He was a world champion pistol shot and was working for the Border Patrol.
One day while on patrol he spotted a canvas or some type of cloth covering what he suspected were illegal aliens. He approached them and suddenly someone in the canvas pointed a stick out of it.
Col. Askins thought it was a rifle barrel and instinctively pulled his pistol and fired. Fortunately for everyone he missed. It turned out to be a husband and wife, and not illegals.
Every time I hear someone recommending range time when a person misses a shot or shots in a stressful situation, I think of that trained Border Patrol Agent and world champion shooter.
That should narrow it down.
There is a technical answer to the “Range time” issue. Laserlyte makes a laser which fits in the barrel of a gun. When the trigger is pulled, the noise of the hammer falling causes the laser to emit a ten millisecond beam which appears as a red dot where the bullet would strike.
As a training tool, it is superb. It allows training anytime and anywhere, with no ammo cost, range fees, travel costs, etc.
With one of these and sufficient practice time, close quarter shooting skills will be such that “More Range Time” will become “I love a happy ending.”
wearing a black hooded sweatshirt
Might be the newest style in robber uniforms.
