Republican Sen. John McCain became so fed up with a Republican colleagues efforts to block the National Defense Authorization Act on Monday that he suggested in a floor speech that perhaps Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reids push to change the rules of the filibuster was not a bad idea.

He’s baaaccckkkk.
Everyone that is surprised raise your hand.
Humm, I don’t see any hands out there.
This guy needs to get primaried ASAP.
“My Friends...”
Notice how he never excoriates liberals or liberal “ideas” except when there’s absolutely no chance of it making any difference. Traitor. Appeaser. Oxygen thief.
Quite frankly, I’m all about filibuster reform as, odds are VERY good, we retake Senate in 2014.
Tried that in ‘10 with J.D. Hayworth but the Arizonans voted him back in. >:(
Then lets embrace it when WE HAVE THE SENATE.
again, with friends like this,...
I wouldn’t trust john mccain to hold my wallet if it was empty.
Why can’t people like mclame retire? Maybe his wife finds him insufferable?
Republican = enemy.
McCain is on a mission to single-handedly destroying what is left of the Republican Party.
Quite frankly, if we want filibuster reform, we should have the majority FIRST. Give it to the dems now and there is NO chance we take the senate.
Good. I was worried McCain was ill. It is nice to see him back to his usual self /half sarcastically
I disagree. By definition, almost ANYTHING the government does will be bad (possibly except confirming judicial nominees). Therefore the less stuff that makes it through, the fewer hits freedom will take. Think how often their actions increase and metastasize government as opposed to how often they repeal laws and regulations, dissolve departments, etc. Even when Republicans are in charge, gridlock is probably good, especially if you balance it against the downside of giving the [other] statists a free hand when they're in the majority.
Senile RINO File.
Good thinking! He'd probably use your ID to register to vote, and then vote for Obama!
I am so freaking tired of lookng at mccain and graham you have no idea.
Ah, welcome back, Johnny! We knew the real you would come out sooner or later!
I am so sick of this lunatic McCain.
Why wont he just shut up?
Last Primary, 2010, he spent millions of leftover 2008 campaign cash to wipe out a good conservative challenger. McCain will die in that seat, nobody can challenge the “war hero” in AZ.
OK. If the house or senate capitulates a damn thing right now they can find me on John Galt Way. I am working towards it now.
I hate Arizona Republicans. McCain is worthless, but those idiots kept supporting him. He was worthless in 2004 and 2010, but they still supported him.
Once again, McAmnesty decided which like minded group he’ll support.
Term limits anyone?
“Then lets embrace it when WE HAVE THE SENATE.”
You’re DREAMING. We’re not capable of that, and McCain would NEVER permit, just like he sabotoged it in 2003 or so (gang of 14).
McCain will ONLY support the reform when the Democrats run the ship...and his lackeys are enough to prevent ANY reform when Republicans are in charge.
As it is, let Reid take the hit, then we simply continue HIS rules when we take charge...assuming, of course, we’re even capable of that.
I’ve been here on Galt Way a while and life is good. Catfish are jumpin’ the livin’ is easy, my GOOD bag is packed and ready to go ...
When hard work and veracity are penalized, and sloth and lies are rewarded, as they are now in this country: ‘Bene qui latuit, bene visit’.
And now he's ready to back their efforts to end it while the we are in the minority..... how did he ever get the nomination?
He used money EFFING CONSERVATIVES gave him to fend off Obama, then he virtually endorses The Won, runs a lackadaisical campaign, and THEN uses CONSERVATIVE money against a CONSERVATIVE in a race he ran like he really wanted to win. If there were any justice, he’d be on a pole in front of the FEC watching dogs eat his entrails. He only runs like he cares about the outcome when the opponent is a conservative. He spent something like $20 a vote to defeat Hayworth.
Democrat Senator McCain was one of the a-holes responsible that prevented the Bush tax cuts from being permanent. If I remember DeWine was the other one. Thanks a lot < sarc >
And add, DeWine wanted to keep the federal speed limits too.
Nah, then the "voice of the minority" will somehow be important again, so important they should be able to veto what the majority's trying to do, like it was the last time the (R)'s had the majority.
A man without honor and loyalty is worthless. McCain is less than worthless, he goes beyond lacking those qualities. He is a back stabbing scum.
You....are 100% correct. He used the money given to him to fight Obama to take down a conservative Primary opponent. I saw that coming before he endorsed Obama.
Do they let Dems vote in the Pubbie primary in McQueeg land?
I don’t see how anyone can ever forgive (or forget) such treachery. Not that anyone I know would have pissed on him if he was on fire to begin with.
Yup! AND -- there was a move afoot to close the primaries in 2010, till McBackStabbingAisleReachingTraitorToHisConstituents, via the RNC's purse strings, made the state party stop pursuing it. See, he even knows he needs Dem aisle crossers (and $20 a vote) to win a Republican primary! Waste of perfectly good oxygen.
Not sure. Can any Arizonans on this board answer that question?
Done and done! See #41.
“the war hero in AZ.”
You mean the “enemy collaborator”.
From surviving the Hanoi Hilton to becoming a total POS. It’s almost unbelievable. For the precious few who might not already know, the NDAA allows the gov’t to snatch American citizens off the street without charge, without legal representation and they can hold you indefinitely.
Traitorous, soulless filth.
Good cop, bad cop. That’s the winning ticket for Lindsey Graham and McCain. One rubs our tummy while the other kicks our shins, then they switch, like clock work. Now, they are training Ayotte to play Lucy with the football. WE, of course play Linus.
This little plot is scheduled about four times a year, so it even has quarters, like a real game.
Could have been more accurate though. Dems can't vote in Rep Primary, nor vice versa. Indies, however, can choose which party to vote in the Primary, so there is certainly some crossover voting, which I detest. Lots of "Indies" aren't independent. However, it is inaccurate to say AZ's Primary system is "open."
We tried that in 2010. He fought for his seat in the primary election far harder than he fought for the presidency two years earlier, and he ran as a born-again conservative. His seat is up again in 2016.
The Obama babies of 2008 will all be up for re-election. Here's hoping we turn it into another 1994,
GAHHH!! Between McCain and Boehner we’ve got a pile of losers. We “had” the house until Boehner started firing people.
