Ah. In public school in Austin (87-90), we had one semester of US Government, and one semester of Texas State and local government. I also took a class called Street Law, which was pretty sweet. Got to do a ride-along as part of the class.

I’m 53 as well. I took Americanism vs. Communism in public school in Florida. My has that state’s system fallen since then.

Anything that reinforces traditional American ideals is no longer taught, by order of the teachers’ bosses; The socialist unions. Producing more Democrat voters is so much easier this way.

We had it at my high school in ‘87. I don’t think very many schools have it now. It shows.

Congress needs to eliminate the Department of education, fire everyone that works for it and make public education illegal!!
Public education has destroyed at least 40 years of our society!

I’m retired, and had to look up “civics” to know what it means. It wasn’t taught in my school, and I can’t remember the word being used for many years.
What is the statute of limitations on words not used before they don’t exist any more?

They are taught teacher’s union values and activism instead.
We have been infiltrated by the left from where the children were supposed to be safe. Russia of the past could not have gotten a better outcome if they had won a war with us.
