The soldiers are responding to the fact that they are
being forced to operate under conditions that no sane
person should be forced to endure. The response to such
folly is predictable and it includes suicide.

The solution to the problem is simple. Give the soldiers
a clear concise goal to achieve....remove ALL restrictions
on achieving it then bring them home. It’s just that simple.

I think you are on to something and these studies are part of the larger agenda to stigmatize firearms in general.

You are right. They are operating under ROE that are just plain stupid and criminal. They have stress levels few comprehend. Restrict access to firearms and all you’ll see is a rise in risky behaviors resulting in more “accidental” deaths. I’m not saying give them firearms and let them commit suicide. I’m saying let’s not do something stupid and ineffective ourselves. Try addressing the underlying issues rather than grabbing at our freedoms first. It is alarming how often would-be dictators (at all levels of government) see the first option as go after the guns rather than address real issues. Convenience, laziness, or part of a deeper desire to control us? All three I’d say.
