She’s clever. She must be a Freeper.

Piers is not an American citizen. What the hell business is it of his? If he doesn’t like things here, let him go back where he came from. Oh, wait—isn’t he facing charges of illegal wiretapping back home? Maybe Lefty doesn’t want to go back to the UK and is going to have to shut up and deal with the way we do things here.

Let’s put this into prospective. Piers has been losing viewers from day one. Larry King was doing “great” compared to the average week of Piers Morgan. If you went back out and asked who’d you’d rather see in the time-spot....most people would respond with Larry King.

There isn’t any topic that Piers ends up looking like a fool after going through the subject. It’s like watching the Today Show with Matt Lauer. After a while, you realize that this is the best that the network can deliver, and you just move on.

There is no debate. 2A is there at affirm the GOD given right and duty to citizens, unfringed for right to KBA. The British colonial power of old sought to infringe the right. It’s purpose is for the militia and secure state to have well armed people The first line of Defence against tyranny by those in governance is these armaments and organizations.

Whether musket, blunderbuss, cannon, pike, rifle, knife, bayonette, pistol: arms are generic and timelessly change scope. Today we include shotguns, rifles of multicapacity, knifes, rifles, pistols and modern technology warfare instruments, scopes, etc, how else are we to protect ourselves against mobs and tyranny?

Pirs Moron is a propagandist new world import who needs an exit vis, bag of feather, pot of tar, departing steamer headed for the old world.

LOL

Also, IIRC, high powered assault rifles are exactly what the 2nd Amendment had in mind. We used high powered rifles to assault the British troops and kick them and their smoothbore muskets out of the country.

Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born Piers Stefan O'Meara; 30 March 1965), known professionally as Piers Morgan, is a British journalist

One reason for the 2nd Amendment was as a means for citizens to protect themselves against any future abuses or tyranny like there was with the ruling Brits. I suggest he head back to his homeland if he doesn't like it here!

Piers Morgan debating the US Constitution is like me debating whether Ghegs or Tosks were more influential in the development of Albania

NOTE: Piers Morgan is the same guy the owner of Fox News used to run one of their British owned papers....the one closed down for their eavesdropping and recording of people illegally

Piers Morgan is more than welcome to try and take my guns away....dare him to

What really took the cake is when the blowhard and Alan Dershowitz decided to take on John Lott - by personal defamation and not letting him answer questions:

http://www.mediaite.com/tv/piers-morgan-and-alan-dershowitz-get-in-heated-argument-with-anti-gun-control-advocate/

In my estimation this exchange irrevocably sealed Piers Morgan's fate as the media's reigning weak-kneed, intellectually inferior, posturing jive-ass stilton eating douchebag europimp.

Ten years ago it was CNN would have disappeared completely if not for airports and breakfast nooks in hotels.

Most of the hotels where I have stayed the last couple of years have switched to FOX. I suspect some airports have, as well, but I drive rather than fly if my destination is within...say...a thousand miles. These days airports are like hospitals i.e. necessary...I guess...but I will avoid them when I can.

Piers, just like most people must have never read the 2nd Amendment....

Most of the arguments about the Second Amendment made by both sides revolve around a single assumption - that the Second Amendment grants a citizen the right to bear arms. What both sides fail to understand is that the Second Amendment grants no such right, in fact, the Constitution grants no rights at all!

What the Constitution does do is identify what powers the people grant to the government. This is the whole purpose of the Constitution - to tell the government what it can and cannot do.

That is why Marxists Democrats like Obama hate our Constitution because it is a limitation on Government not a limitation on We The People.....

Read the Second Amendment closely, it doesn’t say the people have a right to bear arms but rather that the
government cannot infringe on that right.

I don’t know about you, but I sure as hell don’t want to live in a country where the only ones with guns is the government.

Amendment II

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

Thet’s it, that is the whole 2nd Amendment...where does it say that the government gives us any right? It doesn’t, it only says that the government cannot infringe on our rights.

The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.
~ Thomas Jefferson

“The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it”...
~ Thomas Jefferson

A patriot must always be ready to defend his country against his government.
~ Edward Abbey

No free man shall ever be deprived the use of arms .
~ Thomas Jefferson

Today, when a concerted effort is made to obliterate this point, it cannot be repeated too often that the Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals- that it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government- that it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen’s protection against the government. — Ayn Rand

The ones by TJ for sure. I’m pretty sure the Abbey quote is bogus too. A little checking is in order from time to time.

So many quotes just get collected and copied and pasted that they take on lives of their own. Folks make up a great quote, and to give it cred, they assign it to a founding father. Then the bogus quotes are copied over and over.

I almost used what turned out to be a bogus quote on treason supposedly by Cicero in one of my books, but I checked and it was bogus. You have to go to primary sources like this UVA site to sort out the wheat from the chaff. Somebody even sent me his new novel, and it had bogus TJ quotes sprinkled throughout. Yikes.

That's EXACTLY how to argue with a lib - especially in a public forum. Chop the legs out from under their strawman.

Libs always start their assertion with an authoritative strawman stated as a fact, then they build on that while ridiculing other contradictory information.

Undercut AND ridicule their base assertion, and not only does their argument fall apart, but it undermines their entire philosophy.

The last quote by Jefferson is part of a series of drafts for the Virginia Constitution:

No freeman shall be debarred the use of arms (Quotation)

This sentence comes from Thomas Jefferson’s three drafts of the Virginia Constitution. The text does vary slightly in each draft:

First Draft: “No freeman shall ever be debarred the use of arms.”[1]

Second Draft: “No freeman shall be debarred the use of arms [within his own lands or tenements].”[2]

Third Draft: “No freeman shall be debarred the use of arms [within his own lands or tenements]”[3]

This sentence does not appear in the Virginia Constitution as adopted.

Note: This sentence is often seen paired with the following: “The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.” That sentence does not appear in the Virginia Constitution drafts or text as adopted, nor in any other Jefferson writings that we know of.

Good point. Piers might want to look up how a few hundred Kentucky rifleman at the Battle of New Orleans held off a vastly superior British force marching against them.

It wasn't so much that the Kentucky rifleman were great shots (although they were) as it was the greater range of weapons they were using.
