Allen West: “Lincoln only served one term in Congress, too”

Rep. Allen West was finally forced to concede a couple weeks back, and his currently wrapping up his term --- but he's said that he'll continue to look for ways to serve the country, I don't think we've seen the last of him. Real Clear has the audio:

MARTIN: So what’s next for you?

WEST: Look, you know, God closes a door so that he can open up greater doors. I will continue to, you know, stand up and fight for this country. That’s my goal. I have two daughters, 19 and 16, and I want to make sure that they grow up in a great America that provides them all the opportunities that it provided to their mother and father.

MARTIN: Congressman Allen West is completing his term in Congress. He was kind enough to join us from a House recording studio on Capitol Hill here in Washington, D.C.

WEST: And always remember, Abraham Lincoln only served one term in Congress, too.

he should have run in 2012

we begged him .....now look what Fla voters did to him in return for his loyalty to be THEIR Congressman and not distract by running for any higher office .

I believe that as a true black man , Allen was the only one that could have beat Obama’s game . Now with this loss on his record , who knows .
Better maybe to take another approach

They’ve already grown up, Colonel.

It seems to me that a loss in a House contest wouldn’t extinguish Col. West’s chances of a Presidential win. Remember that Obama lost a House of Rep’s. race in his career.

I am not saying that the two situations are identical, but I wouldn’t count Alan West out. He has shown “above average” tenacity for someone in the Republican party in his recent election results challenge.

John Dingell Jr., by contrast, was just reelected to his 29th term.

But his seat is a hereditary fiefdom.

Four more terms and the Dingells will have ruled Ann Arbor longer than the Normans ruled England.

And always remember, Abraham Lincoln only served one term in Congress, too.

And while ol' Abe was basically a good President remember that he also started the attacks on the Constitution with his Habeus Corpus action and when the congress permitted it the camels nose was under the tent so to speak as to manipulating the Constitutional protections. These assaults on the Constitution are not new. They are just escalating.

Yeah, one term too long. Too bad the wrong side won.

No wonder that some people compare hussein obammy to lincoln...one disregards the Constitution now, and one did the same thing a long time ago.
