Not quite two weeks removed from Thanksgiving, it is worth giving thanks to John Boehner, Eric Cantor, and Kevin McCarthy. I really am thankful for them.
Yesterday the three of them purged fiscal conservatives from committees as punishment for being authentically fiscal conservatives. Mick Mulvaney of South Carolina was put on the Financial Services Committee to show fiscal conservatism had nothing to do with removing Congressmen Justin Amash and David Schweikert, but that just causes me to question Mick Mulvaneys conservative bona fides now.
Congressmen Schweikert, Amash, and Congressman Tim Huelskamp now removed from the Budget Committee, have been punished for daring to defy John Boehner during the debt ceiling fight, etc. They pointed out what would happen with John Boehners deal. They were the Cassandras of the fiscal cliff, predicting wed be exactly where we are and they voted against getting us here.
They have now been punished.
On the same day John Boehner, Eric Cantor, and Kevin McCarthy punished fiscal conservatives for standing up for their convictions, they sold out their own convictions by agreeing to raise taxes by $800 billion. They intend to seem reasonable to the press in negotiations with the White House. Theyre going through an elaborate kabuki dance, but theyll get blamed nonetheless.
Pointing their fingers as fiscal conservatives now punished, casting them out as scape goats, will do nothing to woo the media or the White House, but we should be thankful. We should absolutely be thankful for these three men.
As the sun rises this morning we can look at John Boehner, Eric Cantor, and Kevin McCarthy and know the opposition is not just across the aisle, but in charge of our own side in the House of Representatives. All the time and energy I would otherwise have to spend to convince conservatives that these gentlemen would be a problem for the GOP has been spared. Theyve proven it themselves.
And now is a time for choosing for Congressman Scalise. He said he wanted to work with leadership. He said he wanted to move closer. Leadership has now signaled that it has no interest in working with conservatives without compromising not just tactics, but principles.
If Congressman Scalise sells out conservatives in the House to work with House leadership whove just sold out their own principles in the name of looking reasonable, conservatives will need to find a new home outside the Republican Study Committee.
In the meantime, Freedomworks, Americans for Prosperity, Club for Growth, Heritage Action for America, Madison Project, Concerned Women of America, Susan B. Anthony, Gun Owners of America, etc. etc. etc. must start working hard immediately to find quality candidates to challenge incumbent Republicans. These three men and Karl Rove over at Crossroads are going to work hard to stop conservatives though.
Conservatives must seek retribution or become the paper tiger John Boehner, Eric Cantor, and Kevin McCarthy just declared them to be.
Judge Napolitano for president. Impeach Bronco Obama the psychotic phony!
Republican leadership??? WHAT Republican leadership?
Exactly. There is no GOP leadership. Only the fraternal order of DC Hacks.
If Republicans are going to abandon conservative principles by becoming more like Democrats what’s the point? If I wanted to adopt those ideas and values I would have just voted for them back in November. For the first time in my life I’m not totally opposed to saying screw both of these parties.
Now, what should the new Conservative symbol be? Eagle, Grizzly Bear, Husky? (The Bull Moose failed in the early 1900s).
We must find a “new home” outside the Republican Party.
We see this over and over again, the GOPe redistricted A West district, they keep undermining conservative Presidental primary candidates in favor of loser RINO’s, they stabbed Palin during the campaign in 08 when they saw how popular she was becoming.
The GOPe are the enemy also.
For the first time in my life Im not totally opposed to saying screw both of these parties....can’t think of a better time to start organizing the replacement party....we’re wastin’ our time in the GOP-e
Does this have anything to do with Armey leaving FW?
A bear holding a shark!
How do we contact GOP leadership to let them know we’re less than thrilled with this attack on conservative members?
Call their office. Send them a fax. Emails are too easily erased.
The GOP is the Judenrat to the MarxoFascists in power. Anyone who doesn't see and understand that is hopelessly lost to a virulent form of cognitive dissonance - the one that holds on and deliberately ignores the truth because it's too painful to accept.
Conservatives must think beyond just Third Party. They need to start thinking and eventually acting like the Wolverines chris37 suggested as a new mascot.
We're under enemy occupation folks. We better wake up and recognize that.
At best the GOP is like the Mayor of Calument - collaborating with the invaders so he can keep his symbolic position and have a seat at the table of power. At minimum, they are the Judenrat for the enemy.
They' are already helping the MarxoFascists annihilate Conservative voices and rendering us extinct in national politics. If history repeats - those same Collaborators will help criminalize Obama's political enemies and stand there pretending to be shocked when the very people they helped the enemy war against, are rounded up and disposed of.
I would go with the Grizzly; even if we lose, we still get to maul the hell out of them.
I just called my congressman’s office and got a slightly different story about why they were removed.
The GOP has become my second least favorite significant party. It is now clear that even the Libertarian party is more honest and true to its principles and consistent with the constitution. I’m not shilling for Libertarians but it does show how far the GOP has fallen.
Care to share the story?
