Im waiting on you, is essentially the message the White House continues to deliver to the House of Representatives when the subject of the pending so-called fiscal cliff is discussed. Frankly, I am a bit weary of the would-be media telling me that the President is waiting for the GOP to make a move.
Political brinksmanship is part and parcel of elections. I get that, hate it, understand it, but the election is over for crying out loud. Would someone please tell Mr. Obama that he won and that by winning the country has a right to expect HIM to make a move?
The headlines should read, The Country Waits for White House to Lead. Waiting for your opposition to make a move so that a political advantage can be gained by quick response to the move is irresponsible and reprehensible. Secretary of the Treasury, Geithner, was on that talk show circuit demanding that the Republicans say how much they are willing to raise taxes on the wealthy and to then specify what spending cuts they want.
Last week, President Obama laid out a plan that would include $1.6 Trillion in tax increases, hundreds of billions in NEW spending, granting himself unilateral power to raise the debt ceiling, and, perhaps continuing the temporary payroll tax cut, but no guarantees on that one.
The reason I get so frustrated with the media reporting of events is that they are no more objective in reporting to us about the Obama administration than Joseph Goebbels was about Hitler. What is being fed to us as news is nothing more than propaganda.
Where is the Outrage?
Where is the outrage at the lack of presidential leadership? Contrary to the position being allowed, it is not the responsibility of the minority to make a move that can be countered by the administration. It is the role of the President to present a budget to Congress, something this president has been loath to do, and something which Harry Reid and the Democrat Senate has allowed.
Geithner said, "It's welcome that they're (meaning the Republicans in the House)recognizing that revenues are going to have to go up. But they haven't told us anything about how far rates should go up ... (and) who should pay higher taxes," Where was the reporter bellowing with disdain, With due respect, Mr. Geithner, that is not their job, it is yours.?
The Old-Guard Republicans have been shell-shocked since the defeat of Mitt Romney. They had convinced themselves that the vocal conservatives in the Party, the newcomers, didnt really matter. The GOP leadership really had convinced themselves that they could do what they had always done and win. It didnt work, and it didnt work with flying colors! The real conservatives in the GOP have had it with moderation. The Republican leadership needs to quit reading the Washington Post and start listening to their constituencies.
Do You Want To Know Our Next Move?
If you are a conservative, dont be dazed by the loss, discouraged by the propaganda, or dissuaded in your passion to see this country return to the fiscal and social basis you know is our only hope. Dont stop screaming at the GOP leaders to be less concerned about working with Obama as working with their own base constituency.
If the Democrats want to know what our next move is, lets let them know. Our next move is to continue to use every legal means available to stop Obamacare. Our next move is to begin working right now on the 2014 elections and making certain that true conservatives get elected. Our next move is to advocate for a balanced budget amendment. Our next move is to expose the Goebbels press for the administration propaganda arm that it is. Our next move is to anticipate your next move and do everything humanly possible to thwart it.
Cmon, Mr. Obama, lead. Its your move. Im waiting on you.
Our only solution is impeachment of Bronco Bama and the disintegration of both political parties. Leaders in both are very ill children!
Get real. If Americans had wanted a leader, they would have elected one.
