(Rino) George W. Bush pushes for more immigration
The Daily Caller ^ | 12/4/12 | Neil Munro

Posted on 12/04/2012 1:03:32 PM PST by Mozilla

Former President George W. Bush ambled back into the spotlight Tuesday to laud legal immigration, a decade after he helped inflate the real-estate bubble to its 2007 peak while trying to boost homeownership among Hispanics.

“America is a nation of immigrants. … Immigrants can help build a dynamic tomorrow. … They invigorate our soul,” Bush said at the keynote speech of a one-day symposium on immigration’s role in the economy at the Dallas-based George W. Bush Institute.

“Growing up in Texas we have had the honor and privilege of meeting many of the newly arrived,” the former president said. “They see education as bright future for their children, some will willingly defend the flag.”

That pitch was echoed by several panel speakers, including Steven Moore, a libertarian economist and columnist at the Wall Street Journal. On one trip to border farms, Moore enthused, he met a crop-picking Mexican who was working three low-wage jobs.

“That’s the kind of person we need in this country,” he declared.

Economist Stephen Moore is also a rino it seems. All these Cowboys care about is cheap labor for fruit picking and house work. Colin Powell and Romney hired illegals to do work for them as well.

"Growing up in Texas we have had the honor and privilege of meeting many of the newly arrived," the former president said.

"Helping them to fraudulently obtain Social Security cards and driver's licenses as well as food stamps and other social welfare services always brought a warm feeling to my heart," he continued. "But once we found them substandard living quarters - sometimes packing up to 20 persons into a single-family dwelling - and put them to work in the fields harvesting vegetables - underbidding legal citizens, of course - we, in our Gated Communities, didn't really see much of them any more," he added.

I wish someone would point blank as George this, is it okay for someone to illegally cross our borders and apply for food stamps and other taxpayer provided services?

The two Bush's were very happy to greatly expand domestic spending. I don't think GW vetoed any bill until well into his second term.

what an idiotic and insulting statement. Spoken like a true arrogant elitist.

No George they will NOT invigorate our soul. Very few illegals have any interest in assimilating at all. They are here to out populate Americans. They are here to change out culture for the worse.

Very few illegals have a culture or desire to educate themselves.

In 50 years time what remains of the US will be a Balkinized, decaying socialist H*ll brought about the likes of the Bush's and all other Statists.

We are not necessarily a nation of immigrants. Nearly all my ancestors which we have been able to trace were here before this was a country.

They created a new country and built it with hard work, great sacrifice and intelligence. They came to the new world looking for freedom and a chance to improve their life.

They did not come seeking welfare. They were proud of their heritage but considered themselves Americans first. I of course never met them but suspect they would never have cheered for a foreign country over their own.

Bush is truly a jackass.

in his own words Daddy Bush admitted to being a One Worlder, W's actions speak for him so he is obviously a One Worlder, so it is easy to conclude Jebby is also a One Worlder too. Will the power elites appoint Jebby to the WH in 2016 or will they appoint Hitlery to the WH, who is also a One Worlder just like her POS hubby. I guess the more important question should be; what affective options need to be exercised to stop their plan in achieving America's demise.

If we need new immigrants, we also need a process for stripping citizenship from and deporting native-born losers. If immigrants "invigorate our soul" we need to identify and remove emigrants so they will no longer be here to deaden it.

That is the proper and harmonious way to keep things in balance, and I expect the RINOs to start advocating forced emigration any day now. :)

Looking back, it doesn’t seem like they learned much in 8 years, does it? So long as they can get cheap labor to clean their pools, mow their lawns...

W, please listen.

Ours is a nation with a culture of it’s own. If you swamp a nation with it’s own culture, in short order you will overwhelm it, morph it, destroy it.

Why should we give up our culture? Our Constitution, probably the best one ever devised, becomes worth less as millions come here and ignore it.

There isn’t a group of people on the planet I would support coming to this nation in numbers worth tens of millions in less than twenty years. This is exactly what we’re allowing Mexican nationals to do. And now, you seem to advocate for doing this with countless other cultures.

Why W? Why would you want to flood our nation with half it’s present population in twenty to thirty years?

Our schools don’t teach the good that our Founding Fathers did to our current students. The authorities will not teach the newcomers. The newcomers will not speak our language. They won’t understand our values. They will advocate for their on values as a group.

How is any of this a plus for our nation?

On principle, I’m not against newcomers per se. As long as those newcomers become one of us, instead of becoming a separate culture within our borders, I don’t mind new people.

That is the farthest thing from what is taking place today.

In the interest of the diversity gods, that is considered to be sacrilegious.

I don’t bow down to those gods.

There’s only one reason we need more U. S. Citizens, and you and your fellow travelers know what that reason is. You helped usher in the new Chinese model, a Communist adversary with our complete patent and manufacturing base.

Twenty years ago, we didn’t need a population bomb to survive. Now we do.

You and a number of others deserve to be called to acount for what you have done, the danger you increased by your actions/inactions. In that you are not being called to account, you should consider yourself lucky and shut the hell up.

Instead you keep raising your head up to make matters worse.

The legacy you have left this nation, damns you. It is with sorrow that I realize how much you have destroyed your family’s image.

You have a lot to be repentant about Mr. President. Please come to terms with that, before spouting off about what we should come to terms with.

Those who want to hoist the banner of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and the American tradition of immigration should remember that when immigrants were passing through Ellis Island at the early part of the last century, the federal government accounted for about 3 percent of the American economy.

Today it is 25 percent.

Part of the package deal that comes with showing up in the United States today is our welfare state as well as our free economy... Yes, let's encourage freedom. But freedom is a privilege and a responsibility. We have enough people already here who think it's all about entitlement.

If ya assume the bankers ran the last election...and counted the votes..ya can assume they want immigration....

Plenty of banks (and the Federal Reserve) want to tap into the money that’s sent from the U.S. to foreign countries, whether the money was earned illegally or not. And, plenty of banks want to tap into related markets such as opening savings and checking accounts for illegal aliens or giving them home loans. They know the money was earned illegally, but they don’t care. And, they find plenty of corrupt politicians willing to help them profit from illegally-earned money in exchange for campaign contributions or other benefits.

Bush wanted a new America - just like Obama does...

We are now one of the largest Spanish-speaking nations in the world. We're a major source of Latin music, journalism and culture.

Just go to Miami, or San Antonio, Los Angeles, Chicago or West New York, New Jersey ... and close your eyes and listen. You could just as easily be in Santo Domingo or Santiago, or San Miguel de Allende.

For years our nation has debated this change -- some have praised it and others have resented it. By nominating me, my party has made a choice to welcome the new America.

Our future cannot be separated from the future of Latin America.

As I speak, we are celebrating the success of democracy in Mexico.

George Bush from a campaign speech in Miami, August 2000.

You can read the speech here.

Here is an excerpt of a good critique of that speech:

In equating our intimate historic bonds to our mother country and to Canada with our ties to Mexico, W. shows a staggering ignorance of the civilizational facts of life. The reason we are so close to Britain and Canada is that we share with them a common historical culture, language, literature, and legal system, as well as similar standards of behavior, expectations of public officials, and so on. Could be that all it is is W got a grant from the Volag people.

From http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/orr/resource/the-history-of-the-matching-grant-program

...The September 11th terrorist attack brought a halt to refugee arrivals and a virtual cessation of enrollments into the MG program. Facing a potential decay in the service infrastructure due to the lack of enrollments paid on a per capita basis, ORR responded by providing funding to maintain staff salaries through the end of the calendar year irrespective of fourth quarter enrollments. ORR permitted Volags to retain $1,000 for each unfilled previously approved slot. These “unearned” funds of the per capita grants, were to be used to retain the staff infrastructure. Volags were required to match the $1,000 with $500 in cash and in-kind contributions. ORR further directed Volag affiliate staff to review the status of MG clients served and provide additional service and resources to assure their self-sufficiency as needed. This became known as the “50% solution”...

Sounds like just the thing to unshackle the imagination of the embedded political/bureaucracy after all the pre-conditioning that took place after WWII.
