Broun: Democrats Say Raise Taxes or Go to Hell
Right Side News ^ | 12/4/12 | Joe Rowdy

Posted on 12/04/2012 2:09:32 PM PST by RightSideNews

(Washington, D.C.) U.S. Congressman Paul Broun, M.D. (GA-10) today released the following statement in reaction to President Obama’s dismissal of Republican efforts to provide a solution to the looming fiscal cliff:

“Democrats have basically told Republicans to either raise taxes, or go to hell,” said Broun. “Forcing us to choose between hurting families and small businesses or going off the fiscal cliff is not only counter-productive – it simply doesn’t make sense for righting our nation’s fiscal crisis. The Democrats’ math just doesn’t add up; there is no way to tax our way out of this mess.

Even if they attempt to tax every millionaire and billionaire in America at 100% of their earnings, it still won’t even begin to put a dent in the deficit our federal government is currently running.

The only way to begin restoring limited government is to attack the crux of our problem and drastically scale back this nation’s spending. Unfortunately, this impasse is exactly what the President wants – for the fiscal cliff debate to focus on demonizing the nation’s job creators instead of on how his tax-and-spend policies kill jobs and hurt small businesses.

If he’s really on the side of the middle class, the President should lighten the load of debt he’s saddled them with over the last four years.”

Representative Paul C. Broun, Jr. was elected in July of 2007 to serve the Tenth District of Georgia. Since his arrival in Congress, he has been appointed to the House Homeland Security Committee, the House Committee on Natural Resources, and currently serves as Chairman of the Investigations and Oversight Subcommittee for the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee. Dr. Broun grew up in Athens, Georgia where he attended Athens High School and graduated from the University of Georgia in 1967 with a B.S. in Chemistry. In 1971, he received his Medical Doctor degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. An internship at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, Oregon and a residency at University Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama followed.

The goal of the pResident is to punish those evil white people for exploiting the brown peoples of the Earth.

Taking their wealth is just the opening gambit. They will be killed one way or another - most likely, ObamaCare.

So our response should be “cut spending or do the same”.

I am so sick of the Republicans coming out with statements like this.
A whole lot of “obama should do this.. Obama should do that.. “

We all know we can’t tax our way out of this. We get it, it’s common sense.

Odumbo gets it too!

Wake up repubs, dear leader wants to take you down and doesn’t care that the whole ship will go down as well!

They just keep repeating what we already know.

My question is WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?

My God, who are these limp wristed lemmings we put in office?

Considering the Dems love of abortion, that is reason alone they might not want to talk about Hell.

Any victory that party has, is a curse on all Democrats.

Well, Mr. Broun, your party negotiated this cliff into existence because it is too chickensh!t to stand up for anything, and now, surprisingly, it’s too chickensh!t to stand up to going over that very cliff.

How ironic.

You are done, and so are we.

Congratulations.

No they do not.

The democrats could not have created this situation without the help of the cowardly GOP.

The retarded GOP negotiated this into existence in order to create a mechanism to avoid a future debt ceiling crisis by creating an automatic machine that would apply features so appauling that no one would want them, but ironically those appauling features are exactly what the democrat agenda is.

The GOP created a mechanism to give the democrats exactly what they want and at the same time created the gallows upon which the GOP will hang itself.

Hahaha. What a funny joke. The GOP is a bunch of ****ing fools, and so are we for supporting them.

I’m sick of the GOP who have no balls to actually call a spade a spade.

It’;s like their so afriad of mentioning obama by name and attacking him.\\\Obama is a pansy bully, a skinny little wench who got power through him being who is is not based on education or experience.

The GOP needs to call out this corrupt media, make AD’s showing their bias wiht examples , call out obama and the thugs behind him for once otherwise we’ll be having more massive fraud and a corrupt bias media in 2016 in which we will lose.

Also cut funding for the chewbacca and her family;s travel and why the hell are they not mentioning Sandy and how obama plays golf, marines and soldiers get killed and people on Staten Island are still homeless.

Bush was attacked every day over tese issues and yet our side cannot mention it and they should every frigging day till 2016.

Pass the tax hikes when the Senate passes a budget.

How can anyone in their right mind know what to spend until they know what they have.

Force the RATS in the Senate to put forth a budget before anything is done. And then blame the RATS in the Senate.

No, the Speaker should have the House vote and pass their solution to the Fiscal Cliff and then adjourn. At least there is something for the press to review instead of just reporting the Republicans are playing chicken. Lets change the subject to we passed the law it is up to the President to sign it and if he doesn't he owns it.... The Republicans need to Grow some Balls!

Shucks no! Too much damage is done to our nation when the House is in adjournment. Keep everyone in their townhouses drawing their in-session pay and let C-SPAN carry nothing but round-the-clock video of the empty House chamber, as they're required to do.

They should pass their solution and let the dems and obama do what they will but they should syay in sesssion as long as they can. I wouldn’t have said that in the past, when congress isn’t in session they aren’t spending money or doing harm but now we need them if for nothing else to offer verbal objections, if the’ll even do that.

Paul Broun and Tom Graves are two of our most conservative US reps from GA. I believe both of them voted agains’t raising the debt ceiling and also against’ that stupid super majority and almost every other lame brained idea that Congress has come up with. If we had 50 or 60 more just like them maybe we would have a chance agains’t the Dems.

Here’s what I think House Republicans should do. Approve Simpson/Bowles and give Democrats and 0bama plenty of time to make themselves look like hypocritical idiots trashing it, then vote ‘present’ to whatever piece of crap borrow-borrow spend-spend legislation 0bama or the other ‘Rats come up with. I, unfortunately, believe this is about the best House Republicans can do for themselves, and the country, at this point in time.

I wanted to “SEE ROCK CITY” when I was a kid. As we drove past a barn one day with the sign on the roof I asked my mother, “Mom? Can we go see Rock City?”

My mother, being the negative type, responded “Son, I doubt if we’ll ever see Little Rock.”

I’m now just as negative on the GOP.

Regarding your tagline: (I haven't watched the news since the election. Someone ping me if anything big happens.)

We cancelled cable TV more than a year ago, except for Internet access. No satellite either. So, on election night, we watched returns on a local CBS broadcast station in HD but WITH THE AUDIO OFF. Graphics generators showed local and national returns and filled the big screen TV with plenty of info. Since I don't watch CBS or any network news regularly, Scott Pelley was acceptable, as long as we didn't listen to anything he said.

We did this on another TV set as well and went about our evening at home but with more attention paid to the TV than usual.

It worked! We got all the returns we wanted and didn't get all angry or bedazzled when Obama won. Didn't listen to any analysis or speeches or spin. Went to bed before 10PM election night and slept.

The deaf have an advantage over the hearing, when it comes to TV news.

Where do you get your internet and how much?

Have maintained Internet service with the cable TV folks for about 7 years at this location. About $30, but will jump big-time to $50 in a couple of months. Around here, for fast access, Charter has us over a barrel. Still cannot get U-verse here.

And will an antenae work for local stations?

Our $50 Phillips amplified VHF-UHF antenna is split to 3 TVs and a computer to record a few programs through Windows Media Center, like NCIS and NCIS-LA, Blue Bloods, Major Crimes, Rizzoli and Isles, and special events. The quality of digital reception suits us just fine. Off the top of my head, we get all the broadcast networks in either HD or SD...about 24 separate channels or sub-channels (4-1, 7-2). No longer get any cable news channels, such as Fox News Channel, but there are online sources to watch clips of Sarah the next day she's on. That's about all the cable TV news we want.

Correction: My wife reminds me that we get delayed broadcasts of Major Crimes and Rizzoli and Isles through online outlet(s) and not over-the-air.

The fix to all of this is for the Tea Party cacus in the House to put together a budget that spends at 18% of GDP and taxes at 19% of GDP. You might even go back to the Clinton era budgets for a template on taxes and spending.

Pass it in the house and not do one single bit of business till the budget passes. Yes the media will scream, yes the government will shut down, yes it will be painful. But do it now and get it over with before the next round of elections.
