Burning down the Senate

In the hallways of the US Capitol, intrepid visitors can still find scars left behind when the British burned the building to its foundation stones nearly 200 years ago. Today, Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is doing his very best to repeat that history. Should he gain his way, Senate rules will be changed, the principle of unlimited debate will be restricted, and a fire will rage in the Senate that will burn for a long time to come.
Despite 30 years of service in Congress, Reid appears oblivious to the implications of the tired phrase “someday the shoe will be on the other foot.” In recent weeks, he has gratuitously insisted that his proposal to limit filibusters would be a broadly welcomed opportunity to improve the efficiency of the “world’s greatest deliberative body.” Seven years ago, however, he sang a very different tune. Fighting for the right to stonewall Bush nominees in 2005, Reid, then the minority leader, called the filibuster “the last check we have against abuse of power.”

Bingo.
You hit the nail on the head. Reid is in the catbird seat now and wants to get rid of filibusters, but he isn’t so stupid as to not know that one day the Republicans will have the majority. What Reid does know is that if Republicans get the majority, they are so stupid they will give the filibuster back to the Democrats.
That would be the so-called 47% who voted for this scum!!!! I agree with your assessment and proclamation.....

It happened much earlier than that, but slowly, incrementally. You're right about their strategy to prevent a counter-coup. Most of the disaster can be blamed on the Stupid Party itself.
As David Limbaugh put it recently: "If we can't figure out how to win elections when the majority of the electorate actually agrees with us, demographics and the rest [of the excuses for losing] are academic anyway."

If there is any other prof needed to show that the Dems plan to vote fraud a majority forever, people aren’t paying attention.
Otherwise, the Dems wouldn’t be doing this as it could be used against them in a Republican led Congress.

Republican Senators should simply promise to shut the Senate down if Reid persists. And then do it.

Why is a loathsome vile anti-American low-life Communist like Harry Reid still breathing after all the damage he has done and he he boasts he wants to do? He should be arrested, tried for treason by People’s Tribunals and executed publicly on the Mall in Washington, D.C.
