You're right. The accusation, which seems to be coming from the Ron Paul caucus, that these are "conservatives" being excluded from the financial committees because of their conservatism, is not truthful.

Almost every Republican and libertarian claims to be conservative. Words are cheap. Even Ron Paul's bosom buddy, Alex Jones, claims to be a conservative, but here's what he thinks of real conservatives:

One of those ousted from a financial committee is from here in NC: "Little Walter" Jones. He, for one, certainly is no conservative!

Two others are David Schweikert and Justin Amash. Both are apparently Rontards. Amash, a/k/a "Mr. Facebook," is sometimes touted as the next Ron Paul.

Amash, in particular, has a reputation as a loose cannon. E.g., though pro-life, he was one of only seven Republicans who voted against banning sex-selection abortions. (Ron Paul also voted against banning sex-selection abortions.) Amash even very publicly lambasted the Republican leadership over the issue -- not exactly the best way to get preference the next time committee assignments come around.

My guess: it's probably the guys who wanted the federal gov't to default on the debt, rather than raise the debt ceiling, who're being shunted aside from the financial committees. If so, I wouldn't call that "conservative," I'd call it irresponsible.

America's economic problems are serious business. Obviously the House Republican leadership wants serious people working on them... to which I say, "Amen!"

Didn't your read the report from the Heritage Foundation which says the GOP headed by our speaker put no real solutions in getting the country's more urgent issues addressed. Whether those people are not to your tasting, the voters voted them in to get the government under control and to stop spending. The GOP just cut them off at the knees because they were Paul like (not buying it)
