An "anti-energy" drink is being blamed for making middle-school students vomit and act lethargic.
Some students from William R. Satz school in Holmdel, N.J., were reportedly sickened after they purchased Marley's Mellow Mood from their cafeteria and drank it, according to WNYW. Symptoms included vomiting, splitting headaches and feeling drowsy.
"It was like a zombiefest," one student told the news station.
Marley's Mellow Mood, named after Bob Marley and made in partnership with the Marley family, are "100 percent natural relaxation beverages" made from natural ingredients. According to the official website, the drinks are supposed to reduce stress and calm a person down. They come in lightly carbonated sodas and ready-to-drink cold teas.
It's not the only anti-energy drink on the market. TIME in 2009 reported on a drink called Drank that purported to give the same easy-going vibes. It contained a mixture of melatonin (used to treat insomnia and jet lag), rose hips and valerian root, which is known to relax the central nervous system and quell anxiety but may cause seizures.

Cool, valerian root, I may have to try this, I already use melatonin as a sleep aid.
Can’t have soda... noooo.... but something that advertises itself as MOOD ALTERING from some fly by night outfit thats probably got drugs in it for all we know is being sold??

My God, people.....when we will we wake up (collectively) and realize that public schools are run by total, idiotic Leftists who couldn’t cut it anywhere else?????
And it sounds completely inappropriate for daytime use in a school. It might make more sense as a nightcap.
I wonder if there is an interaction with the maintenance meds they put in the water?
It was a private outside contractor that the school had outsourced to that was responsible.

Um... Drank is code for soda and cough medicine, especially codeine formulations.. They add color with skittles and Jolly Ranchers. Ala, allegedly Trayvon Martin. These folks are the reason you feel like a criminal purchasing cough medicines. Think about it, these folks concoct this often enough to require everyday citizens to show ID for the main ingredient.

In one or two generations, our society could be so much better if we just removed all the warning labels and laws that protect idiots from the consequences of their behavior.
